Since we are daydreaming here, I’d say it depends.
If MGs had similar mechanics to BF5 or [redacted] ones, SF rifles (excluding M2 carabine) could be the “normal” gun for ppl who don’t like how MGs work but would like to have some more nimble rifle caliber full auto options.
