I play with friends, and I cannot get any of them to go into the campaign it’s so fucked if you play anything but the Allies. Like shit the tommy shreds through metal and tanks and has a high mag and general ammo cap than the type 100, they took out the MGs on the Ka-Chi, the GMC is better, able to actually pen armor with a higher rpm. Japanese rifles are so bad it’s a fucking gamble to tell where my shot is actually gonna hit outside of 20m.
Ya’ll fucked Warthunder, World of Tanks and made them into garbage nightmare grind fests where you’d be too in deep to change your faction once you realize they just get unreasonably bad at a tier, for no reason.
Again, fuck the Pacific Campaign, do not enter it, unless it’s to report your teammates and enemy players for being in it.
I can’t speak for Tunisia only because its been quite some time since I played.
However Moscow was a lot of fun when I was helping my friend grind up to max. Not sweaty but not easy. The perfect matches where it could have gone either way.
Maybe that has changed since the introduction of the Fedorov or MkB.

you get more armor in exchange for the lack of mgs (can’t shot through the pontoons)
that is literally skill issue since you can get better with that also type hei and type 99 sights are 10/10
Now on to things that japan gets better: AT weapons with their tube being a bazooka but better, a 20mm ATR, bayonets on literally everything, better bombs for aircraft
that would be the wehraboos that ruined war thunder, don’t beleive me well look at the panzer 4H which did fine at 4.3 but got moved down to 3.7, same with tiger 1, panther d, leopard 1, a lower br m48 that is objectively better than the american m48 and chinese ones (better engine and smoke grenades that the other 2 don’t get)
Wtf? What is wrong with Moscow axis, except, well, tanks (better planes though)? And Tunisia gear is pretty much the most balanced across all the campaigns. Gear balance in the Pacific is an absolute dogshit, Japs only having one viable main weapon (boltie with the grenade launcher) and flamethrowers.
Players distribution is another quiestion.

Oh, I’m not saying playing axis is impossible in Moscow (neither in Tunisia), only that the opposite factions have it easier, equipment wise.
But in the end, when all you need is a starter bolt action and having your feet in the cap zone, what trullies matter are smarts and how players decide to tackle the challenge.
In Moscow, playing allies being notoriously easier… Also means that most allies there have their guards down. So once they meet experienced opponents, superior weaponry or not… They get taken by surprise. Always interesting to see.
Like Pacific. Everyone says USA dominates here with superior firepower (I personally don’t think it’s such a huge difference) but if those players meet coordinated Japanese forces… woops, they don’t know what to do
Well, as far as Type 38 and Type 99 are concerned, they are pretty good weapons.
The worst is the Type 96LMG, which has a lot of recoil for its low power, and the sights are very hard to see (the scope is just for decoration).
