You realize this is a game and not a simulator right?
and your point being
not once have i said that it was
In this kind of game is a normal thing to see, especially when you check the campaign levels and realize that the grind is like a road to hell and back, letâs not even mention the F2P people⌠But hey, Iâm not excusing them, Iâm just trying to find a reason why they use these kind of mechanics.
This is a lazy solution, but the alternative was pure cancer and in practice even less realistic.
When I first read the update feed, I have to admit that I was happy, finally the AA spamming was going to disappear, finally the toxic shits that liked to play way beyond the reachable area were going to suck it up and fight, like the rest of us.
But after discussing (in a healthy way) with some guys of the forum, I realized that this is not a good idea, letâs not even be followers of the conspiracy and ask ourselves whatâs the next thing theyâre going to nerf, (heck I even congratulated them for this change). But yeah, realism in Enlisted has become a gigantic joke, added with a pinch of censorship turned to the left side of the history, this place (such as the game) is going to be dead in the next months, some of the Soviet lovers will stay and maybe new people that are attracted by the F2P experience, but no more. And itâs sad, Iâd my hopes, I really did.
And this change is what made you realize that? Itâs been this way since late alpha at the very least.
Furthermore, no AAA spam of the kind weâve had before - is realistic. Even if itâs achieved through unrealistic and lazy means. I think the only thing to lament here is how low effort everything Darkflow does is.
Of course, letâs just be accurate and say that build AA weapons all over the battlefield to kill infantry is not realistic at all. I also dislike the way Darkflow dealt with this: âoh, you donât like spamming? Okay, letâs nerf the way you use the AAâ. Instead of trying to find a way to nerf the building of these weapons, or buff the mg nests where you can get them with a Tier 1 engineer. Damn, they couldâve increase the angles of the mgâs
I think that, simply, AAs are T1 and MGs are T2 because if Engi 2 didnât bring something unique most players wouldnât bother grinding/upgrading them, while at the same time Devs canât afford to make players grind until Engi 2 before they can defend themselves from planes.
Using AAA to fire at infantry should be possible but it shouldnât be the meta.
Welp yeah. And instead of thinking a way to fix this, they just nerf AA guns. Anyway, we all know DF and we know that theyâre not going to go back with all this. And even more, they left an open door for more nerfs, so⌠Place your bets
Itâs a quick bandaid fix with the desired effect of cutting the spam.
Things like changing AA gun models takes a lot of time.
Wanna ask too, âAA was realistic and immersiveâ people:
How often did you use MG nests before the AA nerf?
Certainly thatâs even more realistic and immersive?
Exactly.
Nobody likes spam. Made no sense.
But removing it entirely (historical anti infantry use) also does not make sense.
I maintain that a shield less AA version that takes twice as long to build as it did BEFORE the patch would have solved the spam issue, without removing entirely something special of the game.
difference is the devs canât remove the shield just by changing 1 value
True.
But itâs not like the whole community wasnât complaining for months on end about AA spam, leaving ample time for the devs to find a proper solution instead of the lazy ass nerf they came up withâŚ
Oh. We did.
Also. Double or even triple building time is also a single value. Would have worked, since long building time was always the reason NOBODY ever built mg nests in the first placeâŚ
Well Iâve always preferred pragmatic fixes over nonaction, makes no difference to me what the fix is so long as it has the desired effect, which it did.
True we asked for the overheats and less rof on AA so to make her weak aganaist plane
Seriusly
for avoid all this stupid nerf was simply necessary remove the shield, here AA was usless on frontline
Like tomorrow dickhead star spam at-cannon an the dev decide to resolve this, removing HE shell and reduce AP to 5
It have the desiderate effect? Yes
It good for the gameplay? No
To each their own I suppose. They did solve the annoying spam issue.
But they created a new problem by removing entirely one function.
Itâs a win/loss situation. Lazy as I expected from them. There was better ways resolve this.
Itâs like when those dum dum realized semis were good, and decided to make them worse on any aspect than bolties, which didnât made an ounce of sense. (Thankfully got reverted, which only show they really did made a mistake)
âAnti-Airâ Oh boy I wonder what it was meant to be killing. Change happened since it was meant to be killing planes and all people did was kill infantry with it, so now youâre forced to use it as intended. Pretty much anyone that complains they canât sweep infantry with it anymore are getting a reality check. If you suck now after the AA nerf, it should say something.
