Different monetization method: Battlepass

But if I was to choose a battlepass versus unfair guns advantages that makes no sense, ill go with the former.

I think taking the general concept of “pay to earn unique items” is a good start but I personally would never pay to join a timed event; I don’t have that much time on my hands.

Battle pass is just a means of getting money so P2W is not a consideration for it at all.

Whether the content available through it is P2W is an entirely separate matter.

The point I was trying to make was to ask if people would actually pay for it or if they just think other people would and would rather have it than the current system.

Because in the thread it was first brought up, whoever mentioned it said “I don’t get it either”

For battle passes to work, you need to keep on churning out interesting contents every month. I haven’t taken a look at the Fortnite one in a long time but from my PUBG mobile experience, 100 levels with atleast 85 of them containing multiple rewards(most of it entirely new) is a gigantic task for a WW2 game. Although I would love to see it replace the current monetization, the details needed to make it work is simply missing from Enlisted atm.

A good thing about battle passes is that they can be implemented at any point in development. And an option to renew the battle pass for free if you reach the end level of the battle pass will help keep players in the game. Battle passes as ridiculous as they sound is one of if not the most tried and tested monetization scheme available at the moment.

couldn’t agree more on this.

Oh lol the person that mentioned it was me. Like yeah a part of me doesn’t get it in the case of Fortnite or Apex since I personally don’t play those games. But for a game like Enlisted, which I do very much so like, if the content available in the pass was genuinely unique, authentic to the setting, and good then yeah I’d consider buying it. So as long as there is no P2W content of any sort and it’s primarily cosmetic, then yeah I’d definitely consider it.

Well yeah I don’t think anyone is really saying to copy straight from Fortnite or anything. They’re just suggesting the concept of a battle pass to be used to replace the monetization method that’s currently being used.

But if you personally had to decide what was in the battle pass and how players progressed. What would you personally prefer to be in it and how would things be rewarded/earned? Since you really don’t like the idea of a Fortnite-esque BP(which I can totally understand)

So I sat here thinking a bit about the BP and some different things that could potentially be included as rewards. And well a little idea that popped in my head was to include purely cosmetic items that could be used in-game for certain factions. So for example with the Red Army, a couple of items I was thinking about was 1.) A Red Army Flag which the player can then equip on their character to carry in battle

And 2.) A megaphone which the player can also equip to the squad leader of their squad. Which will then allow them to say unique dialogue that’s specific to the megaphone item. The dialogue could be something like the typical “Not One Step Back!!” or just general dialogue commanding all soldiers forward.

These are just a couple of basic ideas that I had for things that COULD be in such a battle pass if it did happen.

Do you guys have any thoughts on this?? Or do y’all have any ideas for unique items that would be cool for such a pass?

â€șNot letting us hurl abuse at awful teammates with the megaphone
Honestly if it gave the bearer proximity voice I’d get it in a heartbeat

That’s a great idea!!! :joy: Although it’d be awesome for proximity voice to be a feature by default. If anything, the megaphone could just amplify your proximity voice so that you can better yell at your teammates!

Also special Nagant-revolver to shot in one of your squad bots to stop them disorderly running in the line of fire.

Lol I love that idea. Gotta be able to get rid of the insolence on the battlefield after all.

They use advantage of immortality to jumping between me and enemy like a jerk. The enemies’ accomplices must be held responce to the People and the Party!
