Alright! Talking bad about the Dicker Max while not swearing! (Even though I don’t use cuss words at all, but whatever keeps the hammer from coming down on me)
First things first, I am listening to this song by sheer coincidence while typing this and it’s just too amusing to not mention
Now then, why do I think the Dicker Max should not be in Battle Rating III. Well for one, it’s a Tank Destroyer and there isn’t any other TD to my knowledge that is below BR IV other than maybe the StuG. M10 and M18 GMC’s are IV. The SU or ISU-whatever another’s are either IV or V as well. I think. So it is already out of place compared to other vehicles of its class. Not to mention it’s one of the biggest guns in the game. Capable of both extreme AT capabilities and sending huge HE shells anywhere it wants. Now I don’t know how many of you know this, but the way velocity and HE works is that the higher the velocity of the gun, the thicker the walls of the shell have to be. That’s one reason why the 75mm was chosen over the 76mm for so long for the Sherman’s was because it had a thinner wall, thus a bigger payload, HE shell. But somehow, the Germans have magic space cannons and shells that can both penetrate a Jumbo through the mantlet while simultaneously having enough filler to make Fat Man and Little Boy look like sparklers. How they pull this off, I don’t know, but both they and the Russians get to have these crazy huge high velocity cannons that can instantly kill anything they see. Oftentimes just from overpressure mechanics with their HE shells. I like to call these, well I like calling them something but I’ll just go with “‘kill’ all cannons.” Cannons that can probably kill an Abrams from the front given how Gaijin has decided to model them for War Thunder. America literally doesn’t get any of its cannons like these. We don’t get any high velocity 105’s. Or 155’s. Or anything like these. Just an update or two ago in War Thunder we FINALLY got a high velocity “kill all cannon” in our Tech Tree with the Paladin. Before that we only had the CEV, and that’s a Preemie that’s not even available for purchase anymore. So why don’t we have any of our several comparable vehicles that we developed during WWII? Why can’t we enjoy a point and click adventure like the Germans and Russians get to?
So why does the Dicker Max get to be in BR III when other TD’s aren’t? Not to mention the fact that there isn’t any high velocity, high HE cannons for the Americans at all. Not to mention I genuinely hate the Dicker Max and the less I see it because it’s “obsolete” or “unviable” the better
