DF, TELL US What are the rules for converting Score to base XP? 2

Yesterday. My friend hope to know from DF that why the base xp is different from the score that we get from the game and what is the rule of this conversion. However, such a honest and simple request was denied by DF and they closed the discuession by the reason of “No actual point in giving any meaningful explanation here, this thread is clearly bound to become a rants and conspiracy theories train no matter what.” So why does such thing dont even worth a meanungful explanation? And how does it become a conspriacy theories train?

The previous thread was immediately riddled with caustic comments about supposed shady practices from the Devs.

While the actual points to XP formula is indeed undisclosed, the main reason for that is quite simple:

If such formula was known in detail, a non negligible amount of players (or, let’s say, accounts) would start farming by doing exclusively the most XP/time efficient action(s), effectively disrupting the gameplay.

They already do this.
It’s just that we get some extra time that they have to waste on trial and error metod to find the best farming methods.

If you look at the most recent comment roughly you’ll see that they reward this at least mass suicide of your own squad by throwing yourself at the enemy

One practical example:

It is known that the longer a squad stays alive, the lower the XP from said squad’s actions becomes.

If everyone knew the exact time threshold, you’d see in every match people suiciding at X minutes intervals without apparent reason.

So you think its just fair to dont let people know why they dont deserve those xp? I played a game with 6k score but my base point is only above 4000 and I dont reaelly thnk its fiar for me.

The maximum basic exp you can obtain per minute is approximately 300, theoretically, there is no upper limit.
You need to ensure that your SPM are above 250. Generally speaking, 300 SPM is the highest efficiency (about 280 basic exp per min I guess). When your SPM exceeds 300, the conversion ratio of score conversion exp will sharply depreciate.

this is what I got. I played hard with bolts and other slow weapons and my base xp is only half of my score? Is this fair for me?

Lol, your team just stomp the enemy and end the battle in 14 minutes, how hard is it?

Fair or not, you only lost 2 squads. This means you scored a lot with very little squads turnover, hence you hit the soft cap. The principle checks out.

On top of the longer your squad survives, the less xp your get, you also get like 25% xp/ score from using vehicles.
I can understand this reasoning until they figure out a way to get vehicles to play their roles rather than just farm kills.

However, you also get significantly reduced xp for using (H)MG nests, AT Field guns, AA guns, and ampulomets. This is extremely aggravating to me:

  • If you are using one of these structures, you aren’t running around and are actually fairly easy to kill. The fact that you get reduced xp from them simply because someone on the enemy team isn’t smart enough to priority target you with a sniper, aircraft, tank, artillery, or however many other options there are shouldn’t be reason to penalize the person using the structure!!!

Overall, despite it being a really annoying way of doing it, you get the most xp by treating it like COD:
Running in, using infantry weapons, get your whole squad killed, and repeating.

More points should be given for playing strategically, and NOT getting 15-20 squad deaths per game, but here we are.

I’m not sure about the exact score-XP formula but the softcap for XP gain is somewhere around 4-4.3 XP/s. Anytime you finish a match, divide your base earned XP by the matchtime in seconds to get your XP/s, guaranteed it will never be higher than 4.5XP/s. You tend to get more XP for score when XP/s < 2~ in my experience, 3.8 XP/s > is where you get lower XP than score.

And of course as has been mentioned your deathcount actually seems to improve your XP:score ratio, seems to be Darkflows method of essentially lowering earn rate of stomp games and boosting the XP gain for the losers.

Can we stop rewarding people for mass casualties and just Reward people for how well they do instead of how many times they can die

If you think about it, it’s a kind of incentive to pursue the collective good.

The higher your KDR in a match, the lower your enemies’ KDR. They have fewer kills, you hit the soft cap, you both earn little XP.

Instead, if you kill a lot of enemies but they also kill you a lot, they score more points and nobody hits the soft cap. Both of you earn more XP. Win-win.

You seem to still miss that Devs WANT you and your boys to die a lot, because easy mass slaughter is one of the core pillars that make this game appeal to the general audience.

There are aspects of any game that 99%of users don’t care at all.

As in game, and on any aspect of life.

I don’t need to know every detail on content I consume as a costumer on any product to enjoy it.

But that, is just my opinion.

As on game content, there are also aspects people figure out doing math.comparisons, laying down the numbers.

Math isnt hard.
