Defenders in Invasion need tickets

Like @101737576 said months and months ago, defenders need tickets. They shouldn’t be allowed to die by the thousand and still win just because.

It took us 136 squads lost to lose
But they’re still trucking with nearly 200 squad losses
That isn’t fair by any means at all

Literally carved my way thru them, and still didnt win

IMO. Defenders should have the same amount of spawn points (SP) equal to what attackers start with, plus what attackers can earn by capping objectives. So for example: Lets say each objective gives the attackers 200 SP. That would equal up to 800 total SP (the finale objective on invasion gives zero SP so it is not included for defender SP). So now, the total amount of SP attackers have total is 1800. With that, attackers would start all matches normally with 1000 SP whilst defenders would have 1800 SP. This would give the defenders a significant advantage over the attackers at the start of the match, but at the cost of having zero ways of increasing their SP. And as the battle progresses the defenders would have to play more tactically or face the possibility of running out of SP. Aircraft and Tanks should also come at a slightly higher cost to discourage suicide bombing/yoloing that occurs frequently in battles.

Isn’t that what the Confrontation game mode did?

So… you can win as attackers by not getting a single point but just killing enough defenders?

Yes if the defenders are losing squads in a 2 to 1 ratio, but in a balanced match up (when we ever get one) it shouldnt matter.

This would could stop defenders from yolo rushing with explosives and suicide bombing with out penalty.

it would also stop the defenders from freely suicide bombing

That’s confrontation gamemode, then. As someone pointed out above.

I’m not a fan of defenders yolo rush either, but that sounds like a game mode where both teams can win by just draining the other team’s tickets and never going near the objective.

Not really, in confrontation it is a tug of war, while invasion has clear attacker and defender roles.

When the attacker team is that much stronger than the defenders, that they can just farm them it wouldnt change much in the way of thinks, since attacking the objective gives extra points, it would still be the better way to grind.

Game combat needs to slow down and reduce the “zerg rush” this game encourages with automatic weapons all over the place before this would be implemented

If you can’t cap the point even though you are killing a lot of people, then it’s very clearly a skill issue. Or just plain shit map design (which is very common in the game).

Giving the Defending team tickets would just promote a passive playstyle from the Attacking team (which is usually why the Attacker team loses a match).

In this scenario the Defenders have to keep running to the point to stop anyone from capping, meanwhile the Attacker team can just sit back in Gray zone and spam Mortar, Bombs, Artillery and Grenades on the point.

It’s hard for the Defenders to push past the point, because the Gray Zone starts very soon behind it.

The game needs better thought out spawns and terrain. Not “tickets for Defenders”.
Think of the Invasion in Berlin where the Russian start on one side of the bridge and the capture point is the bridge. Is the early rush is stopped, then Axis basically won the game, because the Allies have to expose themselves on the bridge to capture it, meanwhile the Axis vehicle spawn allows them to shoot the enemy tank spawn from cover.
Defender tickets won’t solve this. It’s stupid that the exact middle of the bridge is the Capture point. It’s also stupid that you can literally set an AT gun or a Tank to stare at the enemy vehicle spawn. But this is something very much present in Berlin for both sides on different maps. I believe this is probably the case in every campaign.

Before thinking about changes to mechanics, it should be the maps that needs to be touched.

Why can only defenders lead an attrition war, though?

There are soooo many games where defenders have tickets and greyzones as well.
Thats a lazy excuse

pur a time limit for attackers that increase Every time a point Is captured, problem solved.

If I remember correctly, neither BF1 Operations nor BFV Breakthrough gamemodes which are the golden standard for Enlisted’s Invasion ever had tickets for the defenders.

However, at some sectors the attackers could get a bit more tanks/planes than the defenders, or the defenders wouldn’t have vehicle spawn slots at all for balance reasons.

Well… If defense team got tickets…
Then attackers just can camp in gray zone.
Tickets for defense team not for this gamemode…

Or… We need increase map size.
Attackers will must reach +100m to get point.
And they should almost instantly lost gray zone area.
Then maybe we can add tickets for defense team.

And those mysterious and very elusive games probably also have better spawning mechanics or map designs, which allows it to work. You see, map design in Enlisted makes everything shit. If we add Defender tickets on top of that, then it will just be even worse.

It’s no surprise to lose.

It did and its fantastic, shame most of them are on dogshit maps
I can’t wait for them to add it to more of them

That would be incredibly boring wtf
