The single best part about this game is D-DAY. When the axis have to hold off the allies from thier bunkers and trenches, and the allies have to push up the beach. Both beach maps are the best. We should have these come up alot more often then they currently do. Maybe a dedicated game mode?

Yeah, D Day maps are just flawless. One of my favorite.
I like them, but I also read some people really hating them.

No particular issues climbing uphill with US grunts either, as long as the team has got at least some clue about what to do.

Imo it’s meh. During the first stage germany relies too much on tanks camping on the hills and too little on the fortifications.
Personally I’d block german tank spawn for the 1st objecrive and instead make bunkers much more usefull. Also I’d make allies actually land on the beaches via boats instead of simply spawning there (though I don’t know if it’s possible, I guess yes because of paras). With thise changes it would feel much more like D-day imo.

Tanks are completely useless on this map, because they can’t efficiently clear objectives at all. Only good for selfish kill farming.
Once US will get to bunker, they can do nothing about it.

Exactly my issue.
Tanks get kills while bunkers don’t provide much benefits for deffenders because of how easy it is to assault them.
For me d-day deffence is a wall of fortifications, not tanks sniping the beach.

On the other hand, though, a single unopposed US tank (even a Stuart) is enough to suppress the bunkers almost entirely.

Sadly there are almost no sensible spots to build AT guns. Only some weird ones on hills that often will cause the gun to shake (though maybe this was fixed).
Hence camping with tanks can’t be blamed 100%, because it makes some tactical sense.
Still, I’d rather remove ranks and focus on fortifications. It’s simply much more interesting (at least as long as it’s unique to d-day).
I can agree with it. I’m pretty sure there was a D-DAY only mode for an event when it released or something. I cant remember. The only flaw with it is the fact that snipers ruin everything. Mainly referring to the machine gun bunkers/pillboxes.

I really like the old version of the 2 beach maps
Even if there are tigers or N3 on the mountain wall, or machine guns and sniper rifles constantly firing at me, I still like it.
I enjoy this pressure and excitement very much
But I hate guys who can’t even destroy machine gun bunkers or try to use the terrain and smoke to protect themselves.
They just cry instead of learning how to fight and always find ways to make this game boring
I want Dunkirk but this time Germans will use all their tanks to wipe out entire British army along with the civilian fishing boats.
Just imagine how many kills you would get with your HE/Heat shells.

They remade map to be super in favour of American teams. Only at 3rd objective you can have fun with your tanks.
D-Day sucks. In my opinion one of the worst maps in the game.
Map is ahistorical, Germans are Obi-Wan Kenobing hard and rockets and bombs kill even more due to angles, Allied Spawns are terrible, some bunkers are undefendable for Germans if they have no tank superiority and snipers are annoying.
And whoever thought it was a great idea to let the Germans attack on this map is sick.
