"Core" Content needs Priority: Starting with better AI ($10 game does it better)

whats the magic number again for it to get recognised? 53?

It’s funny, considering that Easy Red 2 is developed by a much smaller team than the Enlisted devs (I actually understood that that game is developed by a single person, but I don’t know how true that is)

but well, it shows that the person or people in charge of Easy Red have a much better order when developing their game, giving priority to mechanics, animations, AI and other things, while in Enlisted much more priority is given to the graphical aspect and to the content (the latter somewhat understandable considering that enlisted is free to play) each enlisted dev is in charge of a different function of the game, but to be honest, the graphics team is the only one that really makes an effort to apply substantial improvements, while that the teams in charge of improvements in the AI, animations, mechanics, etc… put little effort into the game.

It is incredible that today, almost 6 years into development, the game still looks outdated in many aspects, AI from more than 3 generations ago, horrible animations, sound that could be improved, etc… which saddens me since Enlisted has a HUGE potential without being exploited and it is a shame since the game, for being almost 6 years old, should look much better than today… but hey, something in me tells me that I should continue to have faith in the devs

A beautifully made and well put together post that is both informative and concise with what Enlisted truly needs in terms of its AI and in saying that, it’s identity as a whole. Everything as you had mentioned here has really hit the nail on the head, and it’s something I sincerely hope the devs take with consideration.

I firmly believe this matter should be the number one priority for Enlisted in the grand scheme of things, and whilst it’s understandable a lot of these things might be incremental in there inclusion I dream of the day we might even have a roadmap or a AI rework broken into multiple parts.

Nevertheless however the Devs approach the matter, bravo and wonderful work!

Thats pretty fun! nice one. currently my favourite map too…(love the uniforms by the way…“Customization”…another Core feature that needs priority. But that’s your expertise and area)

it would just be "that much better" if they were “constantly firing and doing it while moving”… Not aimbotting…even if they were shooting half blanks. If we can at least get immersion taken care of. And tether has to go

they just spend way too much time trying to decide what to do lol, and then changing their mind, stuttering and moving back and forth about

out of the 50 bots standing around…like 2 or 3 of them fire their weapons at any one timelol…and just a small burst lol

1.000% agree with your suggestion

imagine an AI like in the vid for Enlisted - holy cow, that would be a sight

AI used to be super strong during CBT - but got toned down when Normandy got introduced, because they could shoot through bushes.

All the devs had to do is improve map design, by lowering foliage to a minimum while also making AI believe bushes are hardcover.

only 1%? that is kinda oddly low.

it’s one thousand. ^^

well in math that is decimal point, not thousand separator. :stuck_out_tongue:

Some more support from our RU brethren  (some have already ventured here)

This excuse is always used when someone calls out the Devs for being lazy and not working on other parts of the game. You know what this tells me? It tells me that the DF should hire more people for these other departments. It’s been 4 years! So, in 4 years they either can’t figure out how to pay more people to come work with for them or they don’t care enough to hire more people. So, they’re trying to overwork the ones they have which obviously isn’t working out for them since they are so far behind in every area that isn’t another graphics update. That’s pathetic to me that a company can’t figure this out. Means they shouldn’t be in this kind of business.

Sounds to me like they should update the game engine and get with the times. Fancy graphics and no real gameplay can only take you so far. Especially when you’ve got other companies working in easier “Coding wise” Engines and all they need to do is do a few graphical updates to have a better game than Enlisted.

I wouldn’t say it worked as an outright win for DF. Marketing is why people are playing Enlisted over Easy Red 2. Gaijin has a killer marketing team that will sell reading glasses to a blind man and tell him that it will give him sight again. Easy Red 2 doesn’t have that kind of marketing team or any kind of marketing that I know of.

This seems like the same excuse people use when they say that people aren’t allowed to shoot through smoke. Look, if I see you through a bush or see a weird cloud of smoke on the battlefield, I’m shooting through it and if I just so happen to get a white hit marker then you best believe I’m laying down fire until I get that red kill marker or down marker. Bushes are not hard cover, they do not stop bullets and do not block line of sight.

Well, we all know that they have other projects for their graphics department. Vehicles needed to leave different tracks on the ground. Bad character models had to be made. You know very important things

have you ever worked with SAP (System Applications and Products in Data Processing) or even with simple programs like EXCEL? Do me a favour and write a few numbers (thousands or higher) in there and work with currencies or percentages. The point in between is mathematically correct. The teachers even taught you that in the 5th/6th grade

well i am not against attacking DF for shitty job they are doing for core game. just when you are attacking graphic team for doing their job which should be improving graphics, then that is pointless.

from ISO 31-0 - Wikipedia

Numbers consisting of long sequences of digits can be made more readable by separating them into groups, preferably groups of three, separated by a small space. For this reason, ISO 31-0 specifies that such groups of digits should never be separated by a comma or point, as these are reserved for use as the decimal sign.

For example, one million (1000000) may be written as 1 000 000.

Your right there. The graphics are better and the soldier moves more smoothly in Enlisted, which is why it is so sad that their AI is so pathetic. If I were the CEO of Enlisted, I would be embarrassed that this is the level of bot tech my company is putting out.

Oh yeah, I should have clarified it a bit more which is my mistake. Unless they start going the route of COD or something like that and add things that are way unhinged like even worse than the stuff they added for the Halloween event I’d never attack a department directly. My Ire for the game is directly toward the higher up at DF and Gaijin. To me their greed and mismanagement will kill this game.

Lets hope they are on it big time
