Controversial opinion - PPSH 41(s) SHOULD BE ADDED to the Tech Tree

Reasoning

In all seriousness, it is a cool weapon.

  • Fake - possibly.
  • Unnecessary - definitely.

But a cool addition nontheless. We’ve been asking for unique faction identities for a very long time, and for that at least, it’s a step in the right direction. This now makes the Soviets the only faction in the game to have a Tech Tree suppressed weapon (take that how you will).

Me being a F2P player, I will always be biased towards gaining free additions to the Tech Tree, even if they make some premium squads obsolete. Is it bad? Yes. Do I care? Let’s put it this way - I wasn’t the one who forced you to spend x amount of hours grinding or $60.00 on a premium squad.

I’m sorry if that caused offense, but it’s just the sad reality it is. You spent money at the time for a cool squad, and to donate towards a game you believe in. At the time, it was the right decision. Nothing could change that - other than poor choices that seem to be Gaijin’s bread and butter.

How to fix it

Many people have proposed event squads or premium squads. However, I feel it’s lame, as grinding an event squad is overly complicated and time consuming. Turning it into a premium squad not only makes it unwanted, but also overpriced. No one is going to buy something overpriced and unwanted.

However, I have a better idea.

The idea

Why don’t we make suppressors like bayonets and scopes? Like, detachable from the weapon. The key difference will be that you have to buy the suppressor separately. I’m still deciding whether to make the suppressor cost 400 silver, just like a grendade, or even the same price as the weapon (so for the PPSH, being a BR V weapon, it would cost 2050 silver for just the weapon, and another 2050 for a suppressor).

That is some serious silver being spent. At least, for those still grinding. Perhaps a better idea would work a bit more like this. Most veterans have millions of silver stacked away. But what they don’t have is this…

Keeping on with the attachment purchase idea, I am proposing this new idea:

Suppressor Orders

You earn them through challenges or the BP, and you can go to the suppressor store to buy a suppressor for your weapon. Maybe a BP would make more sense, since you can only earn one per BP. That way, suppressors will still be rare, while still obtainable by everyone equally.

Seem like a better compromise than an event or premium squad (or just not adding it full stop)?

Conclusion

I hope that darkflow or whoever the devs are now add the suppressed PPSH. I do. But, I don’t want to piss off the playerbase, so I have decided to compromise - with suppressor orders. They won’t just work for the PPSH - they’ll also work for any other weapons they decide to add with suppressors in the future. Maybe it seems too close to the Gold Order, but it’s different.

Maybe you can earn 2 Suppressor Orders as F2P each BP, and 4 Suppressor Orders as Premium.

IDK - we have for now LOTS of prototypes in a game - why people starting at 101 paper gun in tech tree. Agree

Personally, I think suppressors should be detachable like bayonets or scopes, since they were detachable in real life. I would probably take the suppressors off every suppressed gun I currently own since being suppressed gives them lower damage, and in this kind of game I don’t really see that a suppressed weapon is any advantage.

Friend, you’re gonna get a lot of flak, as there’s a lot of spending whales in this community. But I agree. Hell, I’ve spent my own share of unnecessary amount of money here for what should be a game.

The way I see it. Past obsolete premium squads from the now ancient Enlisted, are stopping the game from progressing further into the addition of new squads. The whole Jadpanther, StuG III G, Churchill, Paratroopers, to mention just a fraction. There’s lots of iconic ww2 stuff that’s behind a pay wall. But here the blame lies both in the game marketers and us as consumers. Be buy their shit, they keep selling us shit. They create the problem, we buy their solution.

Yeah, there are a lot of mistakes that the devs have made with making / not making things premium. And especially looking at this new update, I think they’re starting to feel it.

Sadly though it’s kinda too late.

To be honest, the game always feels like it’s still in beta stage. Despite how shiny they try to make it look. And I mean no offense.

I’d say it’s time they release “Enlisted 2”. Start all over, and let call this current era a crowd GoFoundMe (because that’s what it felt like)
Making a second entry for the game would probably be easier than fixing the whole mess of a code that’s rumoured to be made out of. But what do I know, I’m not a programmer. Just a nostalgic player for WW2 games, missing the bygone early 2000s era. And Enlisted is the game that could be, if only they realised their potential.

How about 1 suppressor Order for F2P and 2 for Premium instead?

It definitely should be added to TT. And more silenced weapons for every TT should follow.

yeah like the USSR wasnt unique enough by having body armor or the only squad automatic weapon (RD-44) in the game, or paratroopers with swappable weapons and BR, the USSR had no faction identity, sure

Maybe one day the other factions will get their own unique items.

Soviets always have to be on top though, and if that’s not the case, nothing else will happen for the other factions.

They really need to give every other faction them, hopefully as an not paid event squad and premium (like the two soviets para squads)

I fing love unlocking the same SMG for the USSR in the tech tree for the fourth time!
Please add the silenced Ppsh41 because PPD-34/38, PPD-40 and PPSH-41 are simply not enough grind as it is, make me suffer more for the same SMG.

Who the hell wants things like T-44-100 or IS-100?
Or stupid weapons such as Tallinn Arsenal M23 or ZB30?

No one’s forcing you to completely grind every nation. But I do agree, there are much better things that could be added.

especially for free

Alas, this is what the reality is, and we might as well greet it with open arms otherwise we’ll be forever disappointed.

agreed, fun weapons that make people play the game are what matters the most. i tested it in 2 games on the test server and it was VERY FUN, even the firing sound is nice.
and these suppressed guns manage to give players a reason to play something else than ARs in Br5
→ a win across all fronts.

i think its just a matter of time when other nations also get suppressed TT guns, so we just need to wait a few months and everyone can enjoy these fun toys in high BR.

The PPSH-41(s) has the silencer integrated into the barrel. So it cannot be removed like a scope or bayonet.

So it would be necessary to entirely change the current PPSH-41 if this sort of silencer was added; which has its own issues surrounding balance with the different weapon characteristics.

I guess, since guerrillas are forced to use SMGs even in BR5 - maybe suppressed weapons should be reserved for paratroopers and guerrillas.

Suppressed rifles, suppressed SMGs, suppressed pistols, the brits famously used suppressed Sten guns on a relevant scale… so a rework for sabotage units with an obvious tech tree paratrooper squad for each nation seems very straight forward.

It can still be removable. It’s just when the silencer is attached, it shows as the integrated barrel, and when it’s “removed”, it appears as an ordinary ppsh.

If that makes sense. I also don’t know if the Devs are skilled enough for that or not. It’s just an idea.

They should add paratroopers to all factions with some form of silenced weapon. It would be really cool. I just need to research which weapons had silencers in WWII.
