Asymmetric balance is dead; its developers killed it. Because in practice, asymmetric balance either doesn’t work or works very poorly.
I’m also an F2P player. I’ve been playing this game for a year and haven’t donated a single cent during that time. I’m against the PPSh-41 (S) not because I’m pro Pay-to-Win, but because I don’t want to see my World War II game turn into a circus like Battlefield.
An event squad is the best idea. This will prevent the tech tree from being cluttered with unnecessary prototypes.
We don’t have silencers that can be removed and attached because:
Enlisted is a game about World War II. In World War II, ordinary soldiers weren’t supposed to have weapons with silencers; that was reserved for special forces. Otherwise, anyone could buy one, and World War II in Enlisted would be dead for good, or almost dead for good. All that would be left would be to add collimators to finally turn the game into a Battlefield-style clown show.
It’s too difficult for the developers. As far as I remember, there was a suggestion on the Russian forum to introduce a weapon customization system so that you could wrap rags around them, attach sights, etc. The answer, if I’m not mistaken, was that it was too difficult for the developers to implement, as they couldn’t make separate attachable and detachable modules for weapons. How did they make bayonets and barrel grenade launchers? Well, the old Darkflow team made them, and they knew how to make games back then. And the current developers have apparently forgotten how to make games.
I would prefer the good old event squad with PPSh-41(S). And I repeat once again, the implementation of silencers that can be attached and detached is practically impossible for the current developers of Enlist. Not to mention that you can’t just take a silencer and attach it to a regular PPSh; it simply won’t work. In order for the same Bramit silencer to work on the PPSh, it would have to be heavily modified.
“On behalf of the developers, we have decided to add detachable silencers to all weapons. We just wanted to show how much we (don’t) listen to our player base.”
To be honest, I probably wouldn’t play if cod like customisation becomes a thing, and especially if factions can share all their weapons like battlefield.
First I was a little dissapointed becouse I took 5 silenced PPD and it was a hard work for me. Now I feel like - okey - more contet - is good. Lets add this thing in TT and lets - what happens - (nothing bad - for sure). I thinks - the other factions will have some silenced weapons soon. Before that everybody acn try it in a soviet tech tree - thats good.
