When you look at Semi-Autos, they all have similar rate of fire (that being 320rpm, the only outlier in this one is the Type Otsu with 380rpm and Type Hei with 260rpm). This is due to balancing reasons.
So, I was thinking we should also standardise the bolt speed of all bolt actions. Yes, I know, some were more effective than others, but the differences in reality were nothing more than like 5 shots a minute more. So, the capped speed of all bolt actions should be 60rpm, because in reality, who is actually shooting more than one round a second + reload?
The Winchester and Mannlicher can be left as they are, because they have unique bolt actions and in real life would be faster than other actions. I’ve seen videos of Carcanos and Mosins (and Type 99s), and they shoot way faster (about 50-55 rpm) when they’re just mag dumping. So, that should be the standard speed for most. The Type 38 can stay as it is, just because it doesn’t really need a nerf, but the other bolt actions (mainly below the 55rpm mark) need buffs.
But they don’t. Each gun still retains unique bullet damage and velocities and accuracy, just with realistic bolt speed. That’s the beauty of a bolt action: the only thing hampering it’s fire rate is your own arm. Plus, those who can’t use guns such as the Type 38 or Mannlicher will actually feel better using something like a Type 99 because it’s now somewhat competitive.
You’re missing the point. I play on a 60hz monitor with a GTX 1650 and a basic office keyboard, so seal clubbing is out of the question, and my highest faction is only BR III (not to mention I exclusively single queue and my winrate is like 57.5%. What I’m getting at is it’s unrealistic for bolt actions to have such vast differences. I shouldn’t be penalised for using a bolt action with closed sights just because I can’t use the sights of another rifle.
how does any of that dictate your skill lmfao, a random dude who just installed the game with a 5090 isnt going to have a super competitive advantage to skyrocket him up the tech tree
so why do you even care about standardized bolt action ROF? You’re able to do perfectly fine with even the worst bolt actions in the game (not the delisle)
So, you’re telling me that the Mosin M1907 Carbine is perfectly fine? Even though it’s literally the same gun as the M91 Dragoon, just with 7 less rpm for no reason. Same goes for the Type 99s. All could have been good guns but have been nerfed beyond reason. (I did a post on this recently).
Skill, rig or personal experience aside, I’m just saying it’s unrealistic. Below is a video of someone shooting a Type 99 late. Observe him around 6:25. It’s like Mannlicher speeds.
What really needs to happen is bolt actions should be increased to their actual rate of fire and semi-autos should also get a buff. Win-win for everyone.
This but make all 3* BA rifles shoot 72 RPM (with one hit kill). This way BA can actually be usable in higher BR. All 3* SA rifles should also get 400~ RPM (with one hit down) buff as well.
