Type 99 Rifle Fixes

These are just a few suggestions that I have.

Type 99 (late):

  • Increase fire rate (the only other gun that has 42 rpm is the M1907 carbine, which is FREE)
  • Fix reload animation / time (what other gun pauses halfway through reloading?)
  • Bring it down into Tier I

Type 99 (early):

  • Increase fire rate (optional - equal to Mosin rifle but lacks damage)
  • Increase damage (optional - switch damage numbers with early and late)
  • Most important - fix the cycling animation (should be the same as the Type 99 GL)
  • Fix the bayonet positioning.

I will now compare the two Type 99 rifles to their contemporaries.

To start off with the Tier I rifles:

  • Type 99 (late) has higher first hit power (23.4 vs 22.1)
  • The Springfield M1903A1 USMC has better damage retention
  • The Springfield M1903A1 USMC has higher bolt speed (54 vs 42)
  • The Springfield M1903A1 USMC has higher bullet velocity (830m/s vs 730m/s)
  • The Type 99 (late) has a quicker reload (3.2 vs 3.4)
  • The Springfield M1903A1 USMC has less dispersion (12 vs 18)

Notice how often the Springfield shows up? And higher damage can’t be used as an excuse for not having competitive stats, as that advantage disappears after 100m, and the velocity and dispersion is worse than the Springfield M1903A1 USMC.

Now onto Tier II rifles:

  • The Type 99 (early) has higher hit power (22.6 vs 22.1)
  • The Lee-Enfield No.4 MkI has greater damage retention
  • The Lee-Enfield No.4 MkI has faster velocity (750m/s vs 730m/s)
  • The Lee-Enfield No.4 MkI has faster bolt speed (60 vs 48)
  • The Type 99 (early) has faster reload (3.1 vs 3.8)
  • The Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I has better shot deviation (12 vs 15)

Again, notice how prevalent Allied BAs are? Also, how can the Type 99 (early), which costs more silver, and is a Tier II rifle, be worse in some aspects than the Type 99 (late)? And comparing the stats between all rifles (other than rof), they are all very close.

There is no reason why the Type 99 rifles can’t get a buff, especially since a Manchuria campaign against the Soviets may appear (don’t even get me started on the weapon imbalance there - the Winchester M1895 is just atrocious).
