so in the update i noticed some recoil changes to important weaponry like the SVT.
So i wanted to ask the community what they felt about the gunplay.
When i first started playing this game it instantly clicked with me that its basically cod2 but with some RO2 sprinkled on.
However as more and more “nerfs” happen regarding gunplay its shifting more towards RO2.
How do you feel about that?
Im a fan of fast past close quarters type gameplay with snap shots and fast reaction speeds. However if they are going give everything massive recoil its going to make that gameplay hard.
what do you think
edit : people rightfully think call of duty is bad , but you might not be old enough to have played call of duty 1 and 2. which were VERY similar in gameplay to this game. Even the damage model.

I suck at snap shots and fast reaction speeds, so I personally welcome any change in the opposite direction. I prefer tactical positioning over run’n’gun.

this game has been advertised as realistic. idk why anyone came here going hurrrdurr calladooty.
Recoil buffs were needed.
I’m happy about the nerf to b-hopping
I’m happy about the increase in recoil
I can recommend some twitch games if you want. quake, unreal tournament, apex legends etc. There’s far more examples of much fast paced snap shot games than games that offer and semblance of realism/authenticity.

I prefer slower gunplay.
a) I’m LMG player and I prefer to make a killzone in front of me than to run and gun, but that’s personal
b) the game focuses on the realism (at least somewhat) so run and gun gameplay is not really go to solution
c) bots are completely useless in CQC and because of that devs should avoid it until they improve AI later on

im glad about the bunny hopping too but the recoil buffs put a disatvantage for attacking players
Attackers should be in a disadvantage. That’s how it works.

Call of duty 1, uo, and 2 were just a huge deal back then. Maybe you didn’t had them on their prime times.
Cod2, was simply amazing for the time it was deliver. It wasn’t nothing like current cod games

I also like LMG play and i got a 100 kill game on one life with one.
however close quarters combat is always “run and gun” the fastest player will win

this is true. Im i guess “old” but people dont understand that call of duty 2 was realistic
k98s and mosins were one shot kills for example.
It was realistic in damage but more fluid and fast. I like the comparisons to quake but quake has lots of bunny hopping and other stuff

no attackers are at disadvantage because the enemy is entrenched. not because devs make the game harder for them
The rifle only matches on tunisia or carentan were just insane.
How I miss that game lol.
There was a community mod called “admiral” on 1.3 version. It was countless hours of fun with classes in-game on custom maps. That game was so lit for the time it was deliver.
I m getting older lol
Another game that was indeed just skill based on multi-player was medalofhonour alied assault. That shit was just hard. I was like 16 when I got it on release date, took me almost a year to be top notch against everyone. Skill gap was indeed huge backthen.
Now things are more casual, and I enjoy it after a long work day.
But surely that means attackers have an advantage because they know where the enemy is.
again if the damage model was different , yes
however a single bullet drops you in this game.
But recoil nerf also affects deffenders.
So your comment is not valid as both sides are affected.
Recoil is a lot easier to manage when stationary and crouched or prone. Additionally, a guy in a trench with a rifle will win against a machine gunner outside of the trench as it’s pretty hard to hit a small target from a distance with an smg.
you can mount a machine gun on a window ledge and wipe out a team
You aren’t forced to run and hip fire as attacker. You can crawl and stop to shoot.
Those are advantages not gained because of larger reloil. And that’s what we are talking about here.
those are advantages of being entrenched though
Larger recoil makes it harder to consistently hit a target, you need to reajust your aim more. stand still near an enemy trench and you’re dead in 5 seconds top.
