Only MGs mount, I haven’t seen anybody mounting other weapon. And if you try to fight mounted MG face to face you deserve to die, no matter the ballance.
That’s why you control your recoil with mouse pulls. , once you practice enough you can full auto anygun with ease.
It’s an advantage to force urself with a huge recoil gun when you are fresh in any game and stick to it for months.
Once you change to a lower recoil gun later on you will laser everyone with ease.

Good to know. I haven’t seen much people using mounting mechanic (I’m not sure if any).
most people have bolt actions most of the time so its pointless since there is little to no weapon sway

In addition mounting guns restricts where you can point it pretty heavily.

i actually think its bugged a bit. If you move the gun around a bit and mount a few times you can fix the field of fire
I even figured out a way to mount correctly on the crest of a roof
