greetings.
today i come with a suggestion that ( it’s not a priority. ), it would mostly and primarily benefit hardcore mods. and / or, mil-sim communities hosted games.
and that is;
Main Suggestion
the main suggestion is, to implement the " magazine check " feature from active matter ( the little brother of enlisted made with the same engine )
which can be seen over the teaser trailer:
for a visual rappresentation, let’s take a look to our only footage available:
how would it work?
relatively simple.
hold R, and the character will check the magazine or bolt of the weapon.
and the hud will appear for a brief moment to tell you how many bullets you have left.
granted, this, on the developers end, means perhaps new animations, and … a bit more of coding-work.
Why ?
well, the reasons are few.
whether it’s true that you can see the ammo at all time, such feature is not available in the " minimal hud " or hardcore Lone fighter default settings.
matter of fact, you only get objectives, and friendly arrow when in proximity.
even worse on the hardcore settings where most isn’t available.
and this results in players ending up dead because you are not sure how many bullets you have in the magazine.
worse, enlisted current system of ammo will get your self killed, because it will reload the weapon with the lowest type of magazine if you are towards the end of the total ammo.
for example, if you have 17 bullets in the magazine, and 5 in the total ammo pool of your inventory, if you haven’t completely depleted all bullets from the magazine,
in the 17/5 situations, you might reload couple of times with magazines only made out of 1 bullets.
which it’s realistic, and we all somewhat love it.
but with hardcore settings, you can only know how many bullets you have when you reload, or by running and reloading with a full mag.
and for realism sake, it would be convinient to know how many bullets are in the magazine, and know the reserve, to then decide if going for an ammy supply or not.
again, very situation, and mostly for a tiny portion.
but something that is neat and handy to have.
that is all.
