So one day I woke up and decided I wanted to play with shotguns.
I’m basically lvl 0 US and the gun is lvl 11. I wonder if it’s worth to grind only for this gun. Is it any good?
It’s fun but mediocre. Reloading is just annoyingly slow. But using 6 men engineer equipped with it can be very enjoyable, especially in Pacific.
Plus grinding pacific nowadays as US is kinda chill, they are winning all the time.
It’s more deadly than katana that’s for sure but still pretty poor, if you want to fight at cqc then just use smg or m2 carb. With WP meta they were used by some now nobody cares about shotguns.
Comparing one of the first weapons unlocked to m2 is very logical.
It’s more like “you should use tiger II instead of pz4” case.
Plus nobody was using them during WP meta. US were completely dead faction during those time, just full of casuals and bots.
Are fun to use and can score some decent kill, but the gun effectiveness depend from the map
On d-day? No they suck
On ruind-de roux? Yes they are good, unti the last point
Compared to Winchester shotgun, the Browning has got 1 less shot per reload but it can spam those 5 shots in a blink. You can deal extremely high DPS for a brief moment, but then you’d better have a pistol and/or hard cover nearby in case there’s some other enemy still standing.
I love them, the bots are great with them as well and with the tracers they performing spotting duties with them pretty nicely.
the auto 5 is quite possible, the best shotgun in the game.
decent range, ok damage, but slow reload.
great to push trenches, houses or generally close distance.
work even better if you use some smokes to get closer.
ai aren’t particularly good with it, but it can do some good damage.
definitely reccomended.
although… pacific allies it’s quite a toll.
japanese folks still rolls.
and… i’m kinda playing japanese forces too.
i did managed to reach full campaign levels of the pacific, but it took me 2 and a half whole months with some not so high %
so… unless you have a solid team on your back, you might not win often.
but sure, the auto 5, m1918, and the m50 reising are good weapons if you are planning on playing allies.
low ranks too
That’s weird, I did experienced quite the opposite this weekend. With exception for nighttime, during that time it was pretty much fifty-fifty. (But that’s because not a lot of casuals plays during nighttime overall, only hardcore players with bots)
somewhat true.
i did started encountering more resistance from the allied.
but… to be fair, i kinda won 20 matches out of 25/30 last week.
with just bolties.
they either have just started, or some sweaty lords for the emperor never left.
So the Browning Auto 5 is a fun shotgun to use and you can do some damage with it; however I would not say it’s a meta weapon. Your Assaulters are better off with a Thompson in the Pacific Campaign.
I wouldn’t say you’d be hindering your team if you decide to use it at all though.
I found the early American SMGs to be quite poor so until getting the first thompson I used the Auto 5. Compared to a semi it hits hard and you don’t have to be as accurate to get a kill so it’s easier to aim on the move. It hits from a longer range than you would think, too.
In fairness though, I do have 4 Thompson .30s from the first time it was offered, the premium assault squad from the launch pack and the Australian event squad, so having a shotgun squad just mixes it up for me.
idk about that… only time i saw you, you lost
Yeah, because was I mostly using plane during that match, not caring about what’s happening on ground. I really wasn’t in mood to tryhard objectives. Especially the cave one. xD
But it was good match, I enjoyed it.
didnt help that you were the only competent one in the team… it is always enjoyable to play with and against people on forum…
I wouldn’t say my team was completely incompetent. Some players were quite decent. They basically take first objective just by themselves. Plus we pushed you to fourth objective. But I just gave at that point, I really don’t like that cave. I still don’t know where to build effectively really points. We had like ±250 reserves and I just gave up. I just picked plane again and did completely nothing.
I think it was quite decent match and we definitely had chance to win.
Which one? Allies have 2 models, one in Normandy and Tunisia that is the classic pump action.
The other is in Pacific… and semi auto.
(Forgot the names of each)
I use Pacific one extensively on my engineers. Is so good. If you don’t use it like in some kid zombie game but AIM with it, it’s an headshot machine. Kills easily at 100m (with follow up shots) because the spread is low, and surprisingly accurate.
I recommend it. It’s not just fun, it’s effective.
Pacific one is Browning auto 5.
Classic pump one is m1918 (I am not sure, but I do think it’s in Tunisia as well).
I thought he is referring to Pacific one (that one is on 11 level) . It would be very surprisingly to me, that such veteran as he, didn’t get the classic one m1918 and had zero battles as Normandy allies
Yes! One of my favorite when it comes to shotguns. Though, I’m sad that I rarely use it because, from my experience, combat in the Pacific always fought on medium range. Really depends on the map.
