They should never have been made legacy to begin with.
The Mannlicher M93 is no different. I believe it should have stayed instead of the Mannlicher M1895. It was so much better. It had nicer sights, a bayonet, and comparable fire rate and damage.
Unless it was a paid weapon. Otherwise, I believe it’s the Devs obligation to return it to the tech tree. I was thinking maybe BR II. The Devs and players alike are complaining about lack of content to be added.
They can start with the weapons and squads they needlessly removed. Why was it? Just so that they could market them as overpriced premiums down the road? Disgraceful if that was the case.
well, it wasn’t.
it was obtainable for those who bought enough of these rifle regardless of the stalingrad pack
… but the panzer IV G, IAR and i believe the T34 STZ ( not sure about this one tbh ) were later introduced for everyone.
so those who bought the dlc are now left with germans ppsh41s drum mag, thompsons m1929 and bredas for the ussr.
so anything can happens.
personally, as a stalingrad “Dlc” owner,
i’m rather neutral about it.
at the end, they did what i sort of suggested them to do.
introduce everything in the TT, and just give a cool skin to some of the vehicles for the owner passes.
beside,
we got
2x exclusive tank decals
2x flame tanks
3x new weapons
2x new vehicles for a longer period of time ( the IV ausf G & T34 STZ )
4x new weapons ahead of time and many players,
double xp and silver gaining,
and i believe few slots from it.
as the game grows, i suppose changes are inevitable.
so all and all, for 30 bucks i have been satisfied enough.
especially for all the premerge squads,
Nothing you wrote appeared to support my suggestion, that’s all. It’s ok that they added some extra tanks, but the other infantry weapons and squads would’ve been nice.
The M93 is unnecessary to bring back as everyone bought like 15 or 20 before they went away. They are alright bolt action rifles but Germany has several good rifles for low BR to choose from.
The real weapon from Stalingrad they should bring back is the Breda mod 30 for the soviets.
No I’m not kidding. The reason to bring this one back is the soviets only have the Masden for BRII machine guns, and no one bothered to buy more then one Breda mod 30 during the Stalingrad campaign because its such a shitty overall gun. It only becomes relevant now because BRII soviets only have one other MG which is the worst one in the game.
And although the Breda 30 is a shitty gun, its just a little better then the Masden, and can be used fairly well in semi-auto mode like a semi auto rifle. In Tunisia it worked well as a semi auto rifle with high MG damage at long range. It would also be much more useful in large Moscow maps like Quarry, way more useful then it ever was in tight Stalingrad streets.
What, the grand total of 50 veterans? I’m pretty sure post merge players outdo veterans (I’m a post merge myself). There are plenty more useless weapons in the tech trees (MP 38, Mkb 42, MP 43, just to name a few).
I’m not against other campaign weapons being brought back. I just thought that the Mannlicher M93 would be a good place to start, since if the least requested or useful weapon was brought back, other campaign weapons definitely would be.
