Please bring back the ability for the player to make the decision for which campaign or maps they want to play. Or at least give an exclusion option for specific maps. My map rotation is terrible. If I’m playing the Germans 9 out of 10 times, I’m getting some sort of Russian map. The remainder is some random Tunisian map. Very rarely do get any Normandy maps, and even more rarely do I get the beach landing map. I know this was done to get players on the campaigns that nobody played, but at least give us the ability to exclude certain campaigns or pick a favorite map and have that map higher in the rotation schedule.

Supposedly this is something I have heard they are working on, but another thing I wouldn’t hold my breath about. When someone says DF is “discussing” I have yet to see it come to fruition, when they say they are working on it, it seems like years till it materializes in the game.

Yeah like is it actually being worked on or is it just “in the pipeline” (no joke that’s an actual corporate phrase to avoid questions).
I stand by my argument for maps based on theatre. It just makes sense to me. Like I can’t see how every single player having their own favourites list will work and of course in real life the War was largely theatre based.
I also believe most players tend to have theatre preferences eg ‘desert war’ or ‘Eastern Front’ or ‘Pacific/Burma’. Aside from some individual maps being hated I don’t recall anyone ever saying “hey I really want to play this specific map.” (except for maybe Burma but again that’s people wanting to experience the Burmese theatre rather than having a specific attachment to the Mansera map)
There are also some maps that are just universally bad and need to be reworked such as ‘D Day’ (which isnt even based on any real beach which is crazy and to be honest mildly disrespectful to the veterans imo).
As I said in my post, focusing on theatres also allows for better streamlining of tech and uniforms like white snow uniforms in Berlin, LVTs in the Ardennes or desert coloured Crusaders in the Pacific.

Yeah i miss the old ability to pick campaigns also it gives you much more freedom to pick a build for a specific campaign and brings some historic accuracy and if some one points out that someone is using squad that don’t fit in this campaign its community fault since DF would have provided opportunity to keep some historically correct feeling and also will keep players from campaigns that they don’t like.

Nope. Not that at all. It’s because the player base was too fractured and too many bots in lobbies
Yes definitely needs a return, i remember when I started playing enlisted I always chose Normandy. And then one day I was very confused why I couldn’t pick my maps

If they add sub-factions for the 4 main factions and add more maps and battles, they should be able to make a good substitute for the campaign system.
Example: The western allies get
-France
-China(once you equip a Chinese squad, you’d be only getting pacific maps)
-England
-maybe even Belgium
Russia
-the Ukrainians
-Romanians
-Bulgaria (locked to maps like Berlin since Russia didn’t have the first Bulgarian squad formed until after the battle of Budapest castle)

For China Id say add Sino-Japanese War where all squads become Chinese if queued to that (if you dont have a Chinese squad, no Chinese battles).
Burma one could have British, Commonwealth, Chinese, American or any combination of those.
