Has something changed with Bombs? are they more buggy/unreliable than usual? (see screenshots below before answering)
*Edit: No Doubt. bombs are bugged. See video
Bug Report here:
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/enlisted/i/h1983OTXW6Xj
There are no changes on Enlisted Resource, and nothing mentioned in patches (except single dropping bombs)
Over the last few weeks (even longer, time has passed quickly) I have found 50/100KG bombs in particular to be very unreliable. (hard to say for the bigger bombs)
Initially I thought maybe it was “just me” (I am very confident with them, so this is unsual but it does happen)…but I have had unprompted interactions with others that have said the same things (I wont name them, but encourage them to post here too)
I have been watching replays on bombs trying to work out if something is off. It is very hit and miss. It seems to me the bombs blast could be getting blocked by the terrain as they get burried in it.
Is this something that can be looked at? (Im wondering if it started happening more when single dropping was introduced).
If you have any experience please post, even if it is to say working fine.
@Euthymia07 have you noted anything?
Ill keep monitoring but this screenshot paints the picture. (2 soldiers killed)

Now, I’m not one to enable the eternal CASroach, but I did have a bomb dropped 5 feet away from me on a roof just cease to exist and allow me to survive to kill like 10 more dudes, so there might be an issue.

Bomb damage is capitalist propaganda.
The only thing worse than a bomb is a commissar.
Running away from a bomb is desertion. Desertion is punishable by 10 years of execution.
The commissar loves you, so you will go on the attack first.

Only with communist because they r protected by the Manifest of Marx? Or because it’s a capitalist/fascist bomb , can’t be effectiv against glorius people’s soldiers ?
Not just you. Personally feel the G.P. 500 lbs have suffered the most but it is probably all bombs across the board. Also feel it has been an issue even before single dropping was introduced but definitely cannot say for certain.

Thats the thing. Its really hard to say when It started happening, because at first I just gave it the benefit of the doubt… But after having other frequent flyers/veterans say the same thing to me randomly…somethings not right

This especially. With every update comes unmentioned shadow changes. Some are obvious but some may be very hard to pinpoint.
It is not the worst issue but it is weird that it happens. Like why have omissions in the patch notes? Is it accidental? Intentional?
Definitely seems that way.

I played one game yesterday and my tanks HE shells did very, very little damage as well
Feels like something got changed/broken with the latest update

Might be worth a try to report it to CBR as well.
Then they will be forced to check it and vet it ( over a span of months to a few years) to see if it is a bug or not.
But from my personal experience, something has definitely changed with bombs. And the difference is quite significant. But I am still not pretty sure when exactly.
My guess is the time period around when they added the ability to drop all bombs one at a time. Independent of aircraft type.
Asi for several months now, I have been feeling less effective bombs.

i didnt find any intentional change
Ig they’re bugged, since occasionally bombs just don’t do anything if you’re even just slightly under them

It may very well be across the board
Bombs are super inconsistent for me. I’ve been malding over tanks getting DIRECTLY hit with a 250kg bomb(white hit marker), move 2 meters and be fine…maybe a damaged track, but mostly faintly yellow rooftop MG
I’ve also had issues where I’ve dropped bombs right into a horde of enemies (which I could physically see running across an open field, as I dive like a fucking psycho) only to get like 1 or 2 kills…and then sometimes you throw a random 50kg bomb and a KT blows up or half the enemy team dies
Its super inconsistent and maddening

That was another thing I noted while testing, watching replays/. Direct Hits passing through and doing nothing. All that accuaracy not being rewarded lol
I cant remember if they used to embed in the target, or if I am confusing that with warthunder.

“decided to start watching the replays”
Thanks for the investigative work. I’ll keep an eye out as well.
In the meantime, feel free to use this photo taken 105 days ago.
It was 2x G.P. 500lb Mk.IV bombs dropped from the Mossie. So pre individual drop update.
Knocked out both tracks and the barrel. No other damage.

Hmmmm…Heavy tanks can resist bombs blasts with enough armor (usually in front)
This could be an example or just an unforunate angle. I think Ho-RI is 55 mm side armor and those Bombs pen 67mm, so at the angle maybe no pen?
That being said, the Ho-Ri was at somepoint Open Top (or dependent on gun position) so that should be over pressure crew kill (but since its in practice there is no crew)
Im not sure

I guess that sort of makes sense. Honestly had no clue angle was even a factor with bombs. Figured it was mostly about proximity to the bomb. For example, within proximity, dead. Slightly outside proximity, damage. And of course just scratches when far enough away. Though I don’t have evidence and cannot say with absolute certainty, pretty sure I’ve seen Tiger 2 pop from a 50kg at that same proximity. Hence why I’m blaming the bombs.
And I understand that the Ho-Ri basically has plot armor, but geeeez that close and not even an engine fire? Especially against 2x 500lbs? Makes me wonder if the crew would have even needed a bandage, though you are probably right on them being killed. All I know is that it just did not seem right.
But I’m with you, really do not know. Probably many factors at play here that I do not understand. Pure speculation on my part

I remember bombs being devastating in the past - nowadays rockets deal much much more damage and have like 10 times the kill radius of even the biggest bombs, it actually could be bugged…

For the past several weeks I’ve mostly been bombing with the Tu-2S and Ju 188 with 6 x 250 kg.
Seeing the pics here, with bombs and infantry surviving, actually reminded me of how few large multikills I have gotten recently with those big bombers.
Dropping all those bombs on infantry rarely gives me large multikills (10+) anymore.
I blamed it on the high BR maps, being mostly cities and difficult for bombing.
But also on the open map River crossing in Berlin, large multikills I get rarely nowadays.
The last 10+ multikill I remember getting there, was actually a single 100 kg bomb from the G.55.
Also I had a 250 kg pass straight through a tank like butter.
I think bombs used to stick on tanks before.
So I’ve supported the bug report.
