Body Armour should be purely cosmetic, remove the 10% damage reduction from it

I bet one of my 4 slots they will just add more of this crap so every nation has it.

My thoughts well. A pity…

I would bet one of my slots that if such thing happens, red mains will cry ā€œinjusticeā€ anyway because then everyone would be on par…

And it’s something they’re not used to.

(It’s an interesting bet to take. Honestly If you win the bet I gift you a slot or a squad)

Nah, I gamble only figuratively.

I do not.

Be prepared for a slot or a squad.

First topic that came to my mind:

Seeing some faces here that haven’t popped up here, removing effects from all cosmetics is a highly requested change, one I have been arguing for a long time.

And, all my arguments for removal of BA effects can be summed up into:

  • Current system does not reflect real world effects (works on more than shrapnel or pistol rounds, covers the whole torso even the back and other uncovered areas, helmets also realisticly only protected against falling shrapnel and debris and since those are not present mechanics in game helmet modifiers are also unrealistic)
  • Currently offers no downsides, just a straight upgrade, if it should do anything it should be a backpack item.
  • Introducing asymetrical modifiers for one faction but not for others overly-complicates the balancing of the game. Imagine not having to put up with these ā€œ1 more bullet discussionsā€, it’s just one less factor to include when balancing, which can only be a good thing (and any buffs given to Germany to overcome body armour just hurts the US/UK as well, which in turn hurts Japan if changes are made to the US/UK based on that).
  • Cosmetics should have no impact on gameplay
  • Adding body armour to other factions are hampered by the potential balancing issues it would come with (I want MRC body armour for the UK for example but that’s unlikely to happen until everyone also gets their own versions, unless there was no benefit for body armour)

Another point:

  • seeing that many Soviets soldiers with armour (yes. Many do use them) already LOOKS visually cringe. To see Japan, allies and axis ALSO run around with armour… it would feel like Chivalry with guns.

For Agatha.

Not necessarily. Considering how long you’ve been trying to remove the bonus from the body armor, the developers are probably aware of this. And most likely, they simply do not care. I seem to recall that quite some time ago, a community manager on the Russian forum responded to a question about body armor. As far as I remember, the general meaning of the response was that the developers do not intend to do anything about Soviet body armor.

Makes sense, it wouldn’t surprise anyone here…

But the issue is coming more and more regularly however.

And devs are known to mostly just change things while under pressure.

They might change idea eventually, who knows at this point.

I outfit my squads differently based on the role I expect them to fulfil, I’d definetly want body armour on say my UK/Canadian Engineers for example because it fits with their doctrinal use in the British forces, but I wouldn’t want every nutter to have it because that would be jarring.

Seeing sweater teams with several active squads at once with turtles always brings me out of the game…

It doesn’t matter the BR, you will see plenty of soviets running body armor armies. The idea that ā€œno one even really uses it that muchā€ is just wrong.

Seen 5x of them at BR2 within 3 days so it’s not that rare. And it completely ruins your fun and turns your smgs into a nerf guns.

what nonsense.

Either all or nothing.

In your understanding, balance means that Germany always wins?

Well 2 more soldiers has an impact for sure - just not as big as most think.

If you manage to get your full trooper squad quickly into the objective, you can capture rush points surprisingly fast - and it adds up if more people on you team do the same. Definitely useful.

If you arent able to make use of most of your bots, most of the time
I just say skill issue :joy:
