Germany with the Kar98k and I also like the VG2. Plus Allies with the Lee Enfield Mk IV and the Ross Rifle

Depends on your taste.
I would vote Germany with Mannlicher 1895, though Germany has the most bolties thus there is no shortage of options.
Japan has the best BR1 bolt-action rifle, Type 38 rifle is a beast at it’s BR.
USSR has the Winchester M1895 which is functionally the same as the Mannlicher 1895, but has a different sight which I find a downgrade but some people might like it more.
US has SMLE rifles, those are nice with their 10 round magazines, also comes with a bayonet unlike the 2 rifles of Germany and USSR I nominated.

The things that make a bolt action truly great are:

  • sight picture

  • fire rate

  • reload speed

  • capacity

I dare to say that the VG 2 pretty much is the winner right now.

Yes.

But I kept impression of VG being terrible for quite some time myself.
Because I remembered the weapon mainly in context of full auto Berlin campaign.

VG is very decent nowadays.

Well they double buffed it by lowering it to BR2, aswell as increasing its rate of fire.

Also worthy mention in my mind - the long Stalingrad Mannlicher.

  • BR1

  • excellent open sights

  • nice rate of fire

  • reloads with a clip even if not empty

And also another two worthy rifles:

Short Carcano Sniper version:

  • BR1

  • mid range scope + great backup sights

  • not bad rate of fire

  • fast clip reload despite having a scope

Lee Enfield Sniper version:

  • great scope

  • fast fire rate

  • super fast full magazine reload speed

Oh really? My favourite sights in the game, as minimalistic as possible, though I have to say I play with very small FOV.

My FOV for infatry is 100 and 95 for vehicles.

My favorite sights are of classic Kar.

Well if your FOV is 50 then you don’t necessarily need a scope hehe…

I like the standard Kar98k, but also the strangely underrated Vz. 24, which has great stopping power.

For the Soviets, I like the Mosin M91/30, again for its stopping power. The Mosin 1938 Carbine is also decent, but mainly for its sights than its stopping power.

The Allies though, I tend to stick with the M1903, as I just can’t seem to get on with the sights of the Enfields, Ross, or SMLEs.

I don’t have much experience playing as Japanese, but in my limited playtime, I like the Type-38 rifle.
