I can’t buy that when there are countries that do have laws against communist icons, the vast majority being former Soviet Bloc countries.
Hungary: Blanket ban on both
Ukraine: Blanket ban on both
Lithuania: Blanket ban on both
Germany: Blanket ban on both
To name a few in Europe.
The caviat however is that these are bans on public displays for things like the Red Star, Hammer and sickle, Swastika and Solar cross.
Artistic representations don’t fall under these bans, and video games count as artistic representations
I can see your point, but I doubt the devs would change it as it will at least spark unneeded drama from overly zealous reporters jumping on some Nazi support scheme bullshittery.
I don’t think it would hurt the game, whenever game jurnos or jornos in general say something is the bad and try to drum up outrage, people tend to support it more. The most recent big two I can think of are the Joker film and cyberpunk 2077 respectively (it being a technical mess is different story).
I think it would be enough to add something like “the game does not propagate nazi ideology” but leave some historical things intact.

That depends on developer. Imho there is nothing wrong with client side adjustment (aka user skins/sound mods in WT) as long as it does not affect gameplay, but ultimate decision about modding or anything related to user crafted adjustments is in hands of developers, I also saw some games where even change of your costume can potentialy get you banned.
Also me, who is from east Asia where swastika represents abundance, welfare, and luck for thousands of years until it gets banned because of a failed artist student from Austria
I think I speak for most players of this game when I say that it is absolutely ridiculous that you are offended by history and have to censer history . They should add swastikas and the S.S. to this game. Besides in the description for the game it says, “historically accurate”. They should add a free and optional DLC for the game that add the S.S. and the swastikas to the game. Even if they wanted to make the DLC cost money I and many others would purchases it for the simple reason that we want a realistic game that portrays Berlin as it was in 1945. If this offended you I don’t care because grow up it’s history YOU CAN NOT CHANGE IT and to censor this is betraying the memory of all the millions of people who were executed is the death camps. The reason why National Socialism is being resurrected is because of people who censer history. Now back to the topic of the DLC if they want to sell there game in every country then just don’t include the DLC in that country. To summarize if you censer history you allowed it to repeat it self the only way to stop it is to allow all illegal symbols to be used.
I would! Im not a NSDAP but the symbol makes it ethnic and if were playing specific ‘‘WORLD WAR 2’’ type game, we should be able to see everything , including swastika as a symbol… The flag banner would rock with the actual swastika not this little cringy ass cross .
