Honestly a highly disappointing BP, just a lot of meh for my personal taste. The P-40 skin is nice and all but there are far more “soviet” styled aircraft Id rather use or see at that BR.
Overall Ill be skipping this BP Id say.
Still looking forward to the bigger news announcement of today, fingers crossed for nationality selection or map filters.

That would be pretty amazing honestly, would look really cool, at least for the germans, maybe give the other GO soldiers a style update to look more like their inspirations or direct irl counterparts. (Since it might be a bit wacky for other nations troops to wearing the likes of a purple heart in combat.)
We always do - do remember we’ve only had one major update so far this year, and there are lots more to come!
You may have to be more specific here to ensure I know exactly what you’re speaking about - but I think I do. If there’s already a bug report for it, we’ll check the status and update developers.

i’d say for all GOs of all nations.
not just germany.
i don’t see the issue with a small medal on their chest when we literally have protos everywhere.
as far as i can recall, neither were artillery such as panzer werfer or bm 8 used to bombard positions 200 meters away from their location.
or… as far as i know, paras didn’t actually dropped with heavy weapons but only pistols. ( outside the US if not mistaken )
and if we wanna be picky regarding cosmetics, the gemans never had camouflages in the battle of moscow nor stalingrad.
yet you can wear pea dots everywhere.
so again, nothing wacky there more than there already is within the enlisted " wackyness ".
take it more as " liberties "

I think it would be a bit over the top for either US or Japanese troops to be wearing their medal bars or etc. However a lot of those troops who won such distinctions had unique elements to their uniform which could be implemented instead.

it would at least give some reasons to use said troopers rather than leave them on reserve once you are done upgrading a squad with their xp %.

I wouldn’t know the exact map but any map that has lots of water in the Japan campaigns have a weird water visual like it’s stretched out in a bad way. Its very noticeable when flying planes

I mean Id rather their unique uniforms over some small medals that likely wouldnt be there.
but then they would look out of place compared to everyone else.
kinda like the hallowen squads.
( correction, not out of place, but different as you wouldn’t be able to change their uniform )

Not really, take John Basilone for example, I use him in the US Marines MG squad for larp reasons.
I wouldnt mind him have a couple belts of ammo over his neck. Or honestly just a face that looks likes his.
But I mean offer it as an option, allow people to remove the extra ornamentation if they want to.

but unfortunately it does not work that way.
remember the whole fiasco with halloween soldiers not being able to change their cosmetics?
turns out that the reason why, it’s because if you changed the basic soldier gas mask / armor / helmet with something else, you would lose forever the item, as players were unable to reequip the base " unique " cosmetic of the 4 halloween troopers.
because cosmetics are tied to squads presets, not soldiers.
and the reason why you can buy pants from one squad, and use them to another, it’s because there are some sort of shared checklists.
but then again, you cannot buy the white pants / green helmets of sniper squads ( for germans ) US gloves ( for US ) and other cosmetics onto other squads because those cosmetics are not available in the preset.
truth be told, as you can notice, soldiers do come with some cosmetic pieces already ( map tablets, canteens, falsks etc. but most get replaced by the squad presets or bought customization items… so it’s not stable either )
otherwise, technical limitations aside, people would have loved for them to get unique stuff. like i suggested years ago:
( or the " recent " one. 💳 Rework Gold Orders ( soldier & Vehicle ) & Add Camouflage Orders [Concept Idea] but both are kinda outdated given how things progressed. and also wishful thinking after the recent issues with the HW squads cosmetics. which share some lights and insights )

The most ironic about it is that CMs themselves posted the “Jet power” major update in the updates category instead of major updates.

okay I do have an idea how to get around the “technical limitation” there, like the blue tickets given out in the current event to allow you to purchase one weapon out of four based on whatever you like.
How about for each GO soldier, you got a token of some kinda, call it a hero token or whatever. And all squads would get an added customisation option to displace the medal on the torso slot, but instead of costing appearance orders, it takes 1 hero token instead.
I get its far from perfect, but it seems like a nice work around.
