Dense forests in the winter? Hmm oh yeah Moscow, if we talk about map design and assets for maps being repetative then both sides are the same but when it come to equipment France clearly bring something new into the game unlike Finland, if we had the playercount I would be ok with it, but we don’t so the next campaign should be Pacific to give a break the axis Germans and add some things the Americans are missing but after that France is a a far better candidate than Winter war
fance maps would probably a mix between moscow style(small villages/urban) and fighting through fortifications(probably like D-day, but instread of empty beaches its forest)
edit: finland would probably just be like moscow
You seem to forget both sides of Winter war, both sides are mostly Soviet gear
Finland had mostly SOVIET guns as a left off from the Russian Empire, the Suomi which was similar to the ppd, and a few German guns, all the equipment is pretty common in the other campaigns and both sides equipment overlaps in the very same campaign
.> Meme about white flags basically you conceding
.> You know what Winter war is?
A Mosin
Another Mosin
Another Mosin
Another Mosin
A ppd (for BOTH SIDES)
And a German gun or 2
France bring many bolts actions some semi autos, new lmgs and a bunch of new tanks
Winter war tanks would be Soviets and German tanks
Except they didnt exactly leave anything behind, other than what was captured from reds 1918 which bolsheviks kindly supplied and some russian empire garrisons that were disarmed.
Not even close.
You probably can name those german guns then as none of them were used on frontline by finns.
Could ask exactly same.
Exactly as I said, BA’s arent exactly all that different so why would I waste my time on 7 different arisakas and 1 type 100 smg ?
Mmm no. Finns didnt use PPD’s at frontline as it was rather inadequate for the task also the cartridge differency was probably the biggest reason.
Which 2 ?
Yeay, more exactly same guns with different skins.
Well definitely will play normandy all over again to get that one unique semi auto.
And which german tanks would they be ? Finns definitely didnt have a single german tank during winter war.
.> You in a nutshell “I wanna use something like the PPD but against Soviets”
Well name a single campaign where such is possible ?
Let me tell you that Finland had plenty of weaponry that was unique, and interesting. I dont want to grind another germany in the French campaign. It will be boring as fuck.
Finnish weaponry that is unique
KP26
KP31
Bunker KP31
Lahti-Soloranta M/26
Maxim M/09-21
Lahti L39 AT rifle
Plenty of variants of the M/28 rifles.
And again maps would be far from moscow, while france would be just normandy.
So in my opinion the next campaign should be THE PACIFIC
You forgot Kp31 with flamethrower.
Pacific theater would be nice obviously, but a 1940 France campaign would be better than something with Finland. This battle is less known by people and people will mainly be Russians and not the Finnish.
That said, 1940 France wouldn’t be the same as Normandy because the French surrendered before Germany made it to Normandy contested. That’s like saying having a battle in Florida would be the same as New York because their both in the US.

imagine being stuck on pacific when there are so many fresh battles that could be added before the pacific is even started
Just more people to shoot at I dont mind.
Do please explain how it will be different.
Pretty sure the mere distance between those 2 is longer than france.
I would very much like the Finnish war as well to be honest.
They were extremely smart, had one of the best artillery plotting systems ever invented, and used terrain and true grit to cause havoc to the Soviets.
Think both Finland and France would be interesting. Greece vs Italy as mentioned would be an intersting take to and Japan vs China asw. Nothing ive seen out there before what i can recall. But sure i have an soft spot for Banzai charges to against all mighty Muricans with their fancy weaponry ^^
First is “don’t make the maps the same” ok, they won’t copy paste the maps (hopefully the buildings won’t be copy pasted) and add more open fields and less woods or something, just because it’s “France” doesn’t mean it’s exactly the same absolutely everywhere. Nothing against your Finnish idea but I bet majority of the people playing enlisted didn’t know the Finnish fought in WWII while the France surrendering memes are everywhere so it’s knowledge is much higher.
I’m also certain Tunisia is played less because most people don’t know WWII also took place in Africa as this theater is rarely talked about.
Well cant really see france battles in waist deep snow enviroments or jungle.
Oh gaijin, they definitely wont just copypaste.
Theres probably quite alot of things average enlisted player doesnt know such as how to get to cap point or build radio but I still dont see it as reason why not to add completely new campaign.
Well if we go down “meme history” I cant really see why people would be intrested to unlock 7 different kind of whiteflags as french ?
Pretty sure its not popular just because its shit aka poorly made.
lol
There isnt really much finnish weapons to fill even small campaing.
All 4 variants of KP/-31 are just same weapons that are used in different place, like in bunker.
Then there is 1 lmg and 1 anti tank rifle.
But ofcourse there could be swedish variant of BAR, afterall finns got 100 of those.
You mean 2 variants? M/28 and M/28-30 was civil guard variants of M/27 but those all was used by front line troops.
Also there is 2 variants of M/27 and M/91-24 “Lotta-rifle” that is another civil guard variant.
So 5 bolt action rifles and some of them are basicly just same rifle with different markings.
AND ofcourse there should be captured soviet weapons like AVS, SVT and DP
edit: Also tanks and planes would be pretty ‘interesting’ for finns.
It seems to me that with such an imbalance of equipment and equipment, it is possible to introduce:
The War of Italy against Ethiopia
Britain and the USSR against Iran
Japan against Korea.
France had a lot of interesting items of equipment, equipment and equipment. it would be interesting to see that. There is also a war in Spain where Germany and the USSR stood up for different sides, but there will not be even less modern weapons, but as an interactive museum - interesting))
At the moment, even the Italian army has not been completed.
