Battle of France 1940 campaign idea is bad. Lets see why
The French-British levels would be really fun and unique. But the axis ones will be the same as Moscow axis.
We would have
PZII, PZIIIs, PZIV, PZ38t. K98k, MP38/40, MG13, MG34, JU87, Bf109. Aka we will have everything we have in Moscow.
Another issue is that the maps will not differ too much from most Normandy maps. Which in my opinion will be really boring. Youll have the same atmosphere, buildings. It will feel like Normandy but with early war gear, similar maps.
Thats why we will see EVEN more population issues after 5th campaign, but we will have another meme. We already have axis tunisia, and then we will have axis france. NO ONE will want to unlock the same stuff again. Thats why tunisia axis is dead.
Looking back of our 4 campaign they all have something unique in maps and weaponry.
Normandy - A campaign that has late war equipment, you fight in rural French towns, and beaches.
Moscow - A campaign that has early war equipment, you fight in rural Russian villages, a Town in winter or spring.
Berlin - A campaign that has the latest war equipment, you fight in a destroyed city, and its outskirts.
Tunisia - A campaign that has intermediate war equipment, you fight in desert villages.
They all have something unique in equipment, maps, setting. France will feel the same which will be boring.
A few actual suggestions of a campaign that will not feel recycled in maps and equipment:
Battle of Okinawa - Japan vs US
Battle of Iwo Jima - Japan vs US
Battle of Shanghai - Japan vs Nationalist China (I see equipment issues in this one but it will be undoubtedly fun)
Papuan campaign - Australia vs Japan
**Liberation of the Philippines - Japan vs US **
Winter war or Continuation war - Finland vs USSR
Each of these suggestions will have something new, a fresh feel. Europe in my opinion is mostly covered. Apart from Finland.
A pacific campaign will offer so many unique maps and equipment.
Okinawa - A destroyed landscape with plenty of bunkers, jungle warfare, caves, and even underground strongholds! With late war Japanese and US equipment will be at an imbalance, but we could introduce some perks to the Japanese, like traps, melee, new buildings and so on
Iwo Jima - A small island with beaches that are covered in Vulcanic ash, a big airfield, a mountain with plenty of bunkers to take, underground tunnels.
Battle of Shanghai - A completely destroyed city, where we will see brutal close range action with bolt actions and crappy SMGs.
Papuan campaign - Jungle warfare, small villages, early war equipment (I want that Owen gun)
Liberation of the Philippines - Late war equipment, Jungles, caves, and a massive urban battle (Manilla)
Winter war or Continuation war - Early war equipment, unique mechanics like ski warfare, maps will mostly be in a winter setting, with trenches and bunkers of the Mannerheim line, Dense forests.
All of these offer something new. France will feel the same.
I know that DF are already working on a new campaign, and will share news soon, so they wont be able to switch gears fast.
