Battle of Berlin: Soviet assault rifles and LMGs

Here are some of the ARs and LMGs that could be added in the future USSR campaign levels:

  • Sudaev AS-44: The very first assault rifle to be chambered in 7.62x39.

  • Tokarev AT-44: An AVT-40 chambered for 7.62x39 with a pistol grip.

  • Shpagin AS-44: PPSh-41’s desgin translated into an assault rifle!

  • Fedorov Avtomat: Chambered in 6.5 arisaka which does 12,4 damage in game.

  • Degtyaryov RD-44: The predecesor of the RPD, ready for mass production in 1944.

There is certainly more of them, but these are the ones I managed to find.

I belive I m not breaking any nda coz it was an open alpha test.
Fedorov was already on the open alpha almost 2 years ago. Was the counterpart to the stg. If I recall correctly it did 9 damage per shot with Alot of recoil.20ish bullets per mag.

Rpd was present too. A 100 bullet high recoil per bullet shot MG.

None of them, where as better as the stg in berlin.

To be honest, I couldn’t care less about it once they deliver the tiger 2 and stg I played with on alpha. Nothing in this game comes as close as op as both of them.

Alpha tiger 2, was the best tank, is2 felt like paper against it.
Alpha stg was the best gun this game is yet to see again. By far the best gun in all campaigns combined.

Thats why I would like to see the direct counterpart of the STG-44, the AS-44.

The Fedorov avtomat was the counterpart back then.

I don’t like what happend with Normandy and the MP-44, all EU servers are impossible to win on american side now, because everyone is ultra tryharding for the assault rifle.

The Fedorov avtomat is closer to the FG-42 than the STG-44.

I know. But to be honest I m not having problems winning on us side. But I m that guy spamming rocket planes over and over again just for xp. Lol

I m not the right person to talk about win rates. I m usually the one using stupid game items to do so…

Gib Shpagin assault rifle to everyone for free! That thing does seem like it should be limited to the BP as it was literally an assault rifle PPSh-41.

Only these and the ones I mentioned are WW2 or earlier, the rest are most likely postwar:

  • Korovin AK-44: space magic
  • Bulkin AB-44: Bren AK
  • Korovin avtomat: 1933, chambered for a light 8.9mm cartridge (.351 Winchester)

PPSh-2 looks like an STG-44 from wish, its perfect!

@Shiivex @CRO_SkyGuard Curious, what do you or the others think would be good balances for the proposed Soviet weapons? besides the STG 44 ofcourse :). I like your takes on the forum so just wondering im no history expert.

donno. i would keep the fedorov avtomat as a direct counterpart to the stg.

many games have the AVS as a direct counterpart,even tho its a high recoil low mag high punch weapon. could work with a litle recoil improvements. AVT-40 on the same boat.

AS-44 (after googling it) could be a premium variant for a premium STG45(M) counterpart. if, fedorov and stg 44 are non premium variants.

we must. always keep some historical reason/game play in mind.
there is current no SMG like ppd40 and ppsh41 (understandable), germans have no direct counterpart to it (maybe baretta m38 with 48 rounds or mp40/I, but neither have the firepower as ppd or ppsh), neither soviets have a solid MG like the mg34 with 75 round mag.
what a faction looses in one weapon category, may win in another. and i m fine with it. war wasnt balanced,(i know this is a game) but i m fine with it. we cant have the best toys avaiable at all time :stuck_out_tongue:

there ill be no gun like the STG, or tank like the tiger 2, but there is no smg like the ppd/ppsh .

Germany can get these assault rifles as regular campaign guns or as BP guns:

  • StG-45 (M)
  • Horn StG / Grossfuss sturmgewher
  • Mkb-42 (H) / Mkb-42 (W)
  • Wimmersperg Spz.
