BAR 1918 and what it could become

There are so many other guns to get for Gold Orders though, and that would literally be putting all your eggs into one basket. Diversify a bit. Put them in multiple campaigns. Get more than one gun. Gold Orders aren’t exactly the most common resource in the game after all. On average you get what? 2-4 a BP depending on events and whatnot?

So why would I compromise my other campaigns and limit myself to one rare gun, when I could just buy a normal one with silver orders that have no limit?

Was speaking for myself. If I like something, Im getting as many as I can for no other reason than I like it.

Personally I dont find gold order guns campaign Defining. I maxed most campaigns without them. Plenty of awesome weapons in normal tech tree.

But every once in a while you get a gold order gun that just speaks to your style or is something you love historically. Pretty natural to grab as many as you can.

I’ll be honest, up till about a month ago I didn’t even know you could get multiple Gold Orders in a single campaign

Yeah I totally agree. Maybe they could add special forces squad to the game where BAR m1918 is a frontline weapon for anyone. Give it AP rounds or explosive rounds because it has the long barrell. API, armour piercing incidiary rounds. Similiar to this but 3180 fps

M2 carbine is not an assault rifle. It is a defense weapon for support troops.

Don’t forget about a 0.33 dispersion rate :star_struck:

It is just too op :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

this one’s definitely a necro post

i think i figure out why it keep happening it because people didnt choose latest when selecting the thing

Google brought it up. And it is because it was sold to the US government as an Automatic Rifle that wouldnt require the shooter to fenagle with bolt action device meant for everyone to break stale mate. Germany can equip every soilder with FG42. Why do we need machine gunner for BAR M1918. Every single US Marine took the bipod off to save weight for assault unlike light machine gun role. As well as most of everybody else. There are other BAR M 1918 variants… ones with compensators… ones with shorter barrels… ones with out flash hider… i only bring up the special forces with special ammo because this was a special forces gun and the long barrell benifite for more pen. I see on youtube the .308 version… same core less powder is pentratimg half inch of steel.

I read that in Korea it was the best weapon. Most accurate and was great for counter sniping; that it could provide six times the fire support of the M1 Garand.

On Feb. 27, 1917, John Moses Browning took a prototype automatic rifle that he had been developing for a number of months to the Colt Patent Firearms Mfg. Co. plant in Hartford, Conn., to be demonstrated before, in his words, a number of “officers and experts.” The gun was soon seen as the embodiment of the following concept envisioned by the U.S. War Dept. in early 1917:

“[T]o equip all infantrymen with a portable, shoulder-fired rifle firing the standard full-power .30-06 military rifle cartridge and capable of delivering semi- and full-automatic modes of high firepower. A skirmish line of troops, each man armed with a machine rifle, would advance on enemy territory employing … ‘walking fire,’ as developed by the French Army.
Some U.S. Army BAR gunners and nearly all of the Marine gunners in the Pacific Theater discarded the M1918A2’s bipod and flash hider to save weight and improve portability. With these modifications, the BAR effectively reverted to its original role as a portable automatic rifle. Marines in the Pacific battles frequently positioned a BAR operator at the front or rear of a patrol or infantry column where he could help break contact on a jungle trail in the event of an ambush.
