BAR 1918 and what it could become

The BAR 1918 while being a prem weapon which is probably why it is being removed, I feel we should keep the bar, And… Make it an rifleman weapon, Now I know what your saying “Wait wouldn’t that just make the M2 carbine useless?”
Not really, The BAR 1918 would be a hybird between high power and heavy recoil, 20 round mags also being a downside vs the 30 round mags of the m2 carbine.

I think the BAR-1918 should be placed near the end of the tree.

This weapon could easily be an equal footing to that of the LAD, GOROV LMG. While yes those are gold orders, It could also be easily the stand in against STGs and FEDs.

NOW! If the request to make them a rifleman weapon is too crazy I can suggest it as perhaps the start of a side tree for the BAR family? Have it come in early on, Make it lead to the A1, A2 and then move on to the big belt fed ones.

Those are assaulter weapons, limited to 4 men in a squad.
giving a great lmg to every riflemen would be broken. (Fg42 is a battlerifle before someone makes a lameass excuse)
They just stripped Stalingrad engineers ARs for balance’s sake, don’t just let that go to waste.

This is a fair point, Maybe instead of rifleman weapon, Why not have it be an assulter weapon?

What can I say, I am a reasonable person… at least I try to be?

I think the M2 carbine is on equal terms for the FG-42

if the bar 1918 became an assulter weapon, It could be on terms with the STG-44.

From my time using it, It feels alot more like an AR then an LMG at least it plays like one.

I have no objections, I like the BAR.
Don’t know why I would be better off having 4 M1918 than 3 M1918A2 but if that is wish of your heart, I don’t wish to be the jerk to ruin it.

It would absolutely replace the M2 Carbine for people that like to run Rifle Squads with full autos. BAR is vastly superior in killing power to the M2.

Also what? The 1918 BAR is being removed? Like the one you get in the Pacific? Which I believe is also attached to a Normandy premium?

They could literally just make it the first unlockable “lmg” even though technically it’s an automatic rifle like the FG but that’s a whole other debate

Regardless I don’t think anything should be removed. We can certainly tweak things

At first I didnt really care that 1 of the BARs was disappearing.

but then I realised, I quite liked the Iron sights on that one. So I bought a whole bunch.

Should be just in a folder with the other BARS.

I think the iron sights alone are a good reason to keep it in tech tree as a side grade. But thats just me, I Like a good selection of Iron sights

I’m just saying once again here is why the merge/BR is convoluted. What now they want to remove the Bar because they “don’t know where to put it”. What the heck is that supposed to mean

M1918 BAR is exactly the same as M1918A1 except it does not have the bipod. this is probably the reason why they wanted to remove it. Given that bipods’ effectiveness is questionable I woul be rather upset to be forced to unlock a new weapon that is identical but has bipods, so instead you just unlock 1918A1 without the need of unlocking the 1918.

I admit Im at a loss at how many BAR variants there are. i only looked at the two in pacific…So Im not actually sure which is which

All I know is that the pacific bipod had difference Iron sights over the other pacific version without bipod, even though it was pretty much the same in everything else.

*EDIT Ah, I see bipoded version with good sights is in Normandy. Now I really dont care what happens to it haha
