Banner-bearer

[mostly for USSR and Japan - I sure and I belive someday we will see Japan here]

Banner-bearer [support unit for Banzai charges who gives bonuses for attackers or even defenders near banner]:

  • Armed with a flag and a rifle
  • Gives a special command to “prepare to attack” or “attach bayonets”
  • Unfurls a banner and sounds a war cry
  • While in this state, creates an invisible circle that gives the fighters in it a bonus to stamina, melee attack and sprint.
  • Capturing an enemy banner gives a lot of exp
  • The number of squads with standard bearers is limited to one per team
  • When the standard bearer dies, any other player can raise the banners and continue the “banzai attack”
  • The standard bearer receives a percentage of experience from kills made by players under his bonus and a percentage for capturing a point
  • Perhaps the standard bearer can give bonuses during defense as well

Why it can be good idea:

  • If you remember Rising storm - Banzai charges its realy fun!
  • This is a new attack tactic - often a last resort tactic.
  • Can be compared in strength with the Japanese with the Americans with the best weapons [same can be for some companies with USSR]
  • A new fighter is +1 level in each company or +1 fighter for gold or money
  • Such types of fighters and such tactics were in real life
  • As we saw in another game [rising storm], this tactic will be successful only in some moments and on some maps, it should not become the main attack tactic
  • We can get the banners of various units and varying degrees of shabbyness as rewards in promotions, as premium units, as tradable items for the marketplace, etc.

My own questions:

  • For any kind of melee attack we still not have there melee rush attack animation [I mean when you run holding melee attack button]
  • Can be sure only about “Banzai charges” used by Japan and Ussr

No no no, if you want it for looks sure, this isn’t warhammer 40k where a banner boosts your stats

hmm I think Rising storm “Banzai charges” made bost too
what about Rising storm?

We didn’t have banners there, just lowly but brave riflemen blindly charging ahead, causing fear in the hearts of usa troops (causing their aim to have “shell shock” effect)
All we needed was to scream out of our lungs for the glory of the emperor.

and in your opinion how this flags in real life?
may be its funny or stupid but this rushes made peoples more brave i think

Like i said for appearance i don’t see an issue.

For example on mount and blade napoleanic dlc some men can weild instruments such as flutes, drums etc., and someone can carry a flag banner. The flag does absolutely nothing to stats but can be used as a weapon.

and in battle cry of freadom and in war of rights and in prime & load and in holdfast - dont sure about all but in same be in lane be near flag or musician give some bonus - realy long time not played this games

Giving a flag to only Russians and giving them a boost is unfair to the other team that cant get one.

indeed, the germans would need something to compensate the buffs received by the russians

do you played rising storm?
usa not have banzai attaks - and all ok
germans have mg vs banzai attacks
and why they cand made same melee attacs? i write “mostly” not “only”

they have even this Nahkampfspange des Heeres - so i think they use melee charges too

imagine a spell that could give you extra ten rounds for rifle :smiley:

What if the Banner-baerer should have a special abilility called battle cry . This should boost the stamina , healt , running speed for a short time.

can be
but i for small boost not more then 20%
now we have a lot of perks in the game, which, in my opinion, are too strong - too many % they give

Ok but only if we can stab people with the flag, like Mel Gibson did in that Simpsons episode

We have our classic “HURRA!”.

This is pointless. The Banner bearers are just going to be another riflemen squad with fancy flags attached to their rifles or backs depending on the specific faction. “But it gave the squad a Buff !” still a rifle squad… nothings change. oh and a big open target for the enemy

in just one reason its not pointless - this been in real life [mostly USSR and Japan]

Enlisted Bannerlord next ?

we have one bannerlord - let they finish ferst one we not need one more bannerlord i think
