Not so different than use two assaulter squad and a medic squad
Iād be very cautious with that. I wouldnāt want to make bolt action rifles obsolete.
But buffing accuracy and range is perfectly fine.
Only on the weapon level (and still not fully), not on utility level.
Imo it would be a must have squad. Especially for F2P players that need to take the most universal squads because of limited slots.
Yeah I was only talking about specifically BR 4 and 5. When Boltaction rifles arent really a thing anymore (beyond choice)
the choice at that BR 4-5 is Semi auto or Selectfire (Select fire just straight up better)
The choice at low BR 1-3 is Bolt Action or Semi Auto (there is an upside for both)
Fair point, but I would remember you that skill in using a gun is the most important factor, outside try harder most people who run full auto are not an issue because they play āchillā
Bolt action already donāt fight semi auto most of time, I think is fine buff their damage now
Except if we balance gear, we must assume equal level of skill. Otherwise we can give a knife to one dude and a minigun to another and say itās balanced because of their skill.
Personally Iād like semis and bolts to be somewhat comparable. I run BR3 with mix of both and imo itās fine as it is.
Assuming BR±1 will come one day, we have to take such situations into account.
IMO after BR 3, Semi Autos become the new āBolt Actionsā
Hitting harder could be a reason to use them over select fires . Follow the BR 1-3 Bolt Action VS semi auto formula
- Semi Auto requires 1 hit (certain range), 10 rounds
- Select Fire, higher Capacity, Full Auto, Requires 2 hits
Or we could change select fire to be intermediate cartridge like I suggested.
- bolt action rifles - slow rof, big damage
- semi auto rifles - medium rof, medium damage
- intermediate rifles - high rof (auto), low damage
Imo such split gives every gun an unique role, even at high BR.
Balanced gear isnāt = skill level, the gear should be balanced (indipendent you go full auto or not) the other should counter you, but if you are skilled you should win every time if you want
Semi are booties evolution and is becomed ever more nitid now with the BR wall splitting them, also some semi already have back their 14 original damage so I donāt see why even other canāt (obliviously the one who can in base of their ammunition)
I just donāt like the idea of making weapon type completely obsolete.
Iām ok if one semi rifle makes the other semi rifle obsolete. But the whole category of guns? Imo thatās too much.
I donāt like this powercreep mentality both devs and a lot of community has. Sidegrades are more interesting than upgrades.
We are talking about 6 gun in total who should be buffed
Svt 38
Svt 40
ZK 29
Gewer 41
Gewer 43
Garand
All other semi-auto or are carabine, use low damage cartridge like armaguerra and hei, or are full auto/drum and shouldnāt be changed
Then ppl will ask why you buffed those rifles based on cartridge but not full auto ones.
Of course I know why but you see the issue.
You answered yourself full auto one have already higher DPS than any other gun outside mg
Semis also already have higher dps than bolt action rifles. And yet you buff them.
You see that balance of SA vs SF is an issue and your solution is to push it down to BA vs SA. I donāt like this.
(Remember Iām planing for BR±1.)
Boltie donāt fight in full auto envorinment and havenāt semi dispersions penalties
honestly imo Is not going happen and Iām talking about current game
So itās not an issue of semis being too weak, but everything else being too strong.
Thatās why I suggest intermediate rifles. So they arenāt a straight upgrade from semis but are still on pair with everything else (except for MGs).
fair
They should ve guaranteed 1 hit. Theyāre logical upgrade to BAs.
People shouldnāt have dilemma what to pick, semis should be always better.
Thus BAs without GLs should be placed at BR 1-2 and Semis at BR 3-4.
So SF rifles also should be ohk.
It wouldnāt make much difference, so I really donāt care.
I think hand held .50cal (though with limited ammo) may actually make a difference.
