due to low render distance, its hard to spot enemy ground forces from aircraft, but a skilled player will already know where the enemy is most likely to be and be useful to his team anyways, but for a newer player, going into a2g is near to impossible, especially on confined maps; increase render distance or find a way to fix this problem.
also, we need a better bombing tutorial, right now its just “its hard to hit and requires lots of practice”, i had a guy on my team shooting his mgs at enemies, but in every single run, bombs fell into allies (thankfully FF is disabled)
To be fair it does make sense that you can’t really see enemy infantry from the skies unless they’re in an open area where they stand out, most of the time it’s players not understanding how to drop bombs / where to drop bombs / how to ask for people for marks
Take a small plane or a helicopter, fly at about 1000ft (a little higher than 300m) traveling at least 80 knots (a little under 150 kph) and see how many individual people you can pick out, even on an open field. Now imagine they are wearing the same colors as the terrain, ducking and dodging between buildings as they get shot at, and imagine how hard it would be to actually see anyone, let alone in a steep dive.
Being honest, if you don’t know where enemy infantry usually is you maybe should’ve being playing infantry more to first get some map knowledge and then play planes when you have more idea on where you should drop the bombs (not gonna argue about vehicles because you need to be blind to not see their cannon blast when you are flying and people that says “mark tanks” shouldn’t be allowed to take the plane at all).
Where exactly am i defending a Beaufighter? Just because I told people who whine about it that it can be shot down even by the worst plane in the game is me “defending it”? I didn’t even unlock it yet lmao
Little shitters like you, so common in this community are really starting to piss me off. All you scum can say is “skill issue this skill issue that”, adding nothing of value to any of the threads you post on. On Tunisia, on those flat, open DESERTS you can literally see infantry only pop in after you are right on top of them, which makes shredding them in the Hurricane. (EDIT: And im strafing the ground in a Hurricane, because I am bored out of my mind on most of defence rounds, after enemy stops spawning planes lmao) And not everyone has the latest, fattest hardware to run the game at max everything.
TLDR: Today I learned that enemies literally NOT RENDERING is a skill issue
If you think you have shit hardware, I assure you I have worse and I have never had any difficulty hitting clusters of enemies with any sort of high explosive ordinance from any plane. Again, not being able to see infantry above 300m or 1000ft is perfectly accurate, and relying on seeing enemy infantry before CASing them is yes, a skill issue. Learn the maps, learn where the choke points are, learn to watch for the muzzle flashes of tanks and learn which parts of which points are open top. There are a million things one can do even if the enemy doesn’t render, and relying on that one crutch is indicative of a skill deficit.
Where did I say anything about rockets or bombs? There are maps out there where infantry is painfully visible, once they render, yet you can’t shoot that them with MGs, BECAUSE THEY DONT RENDER. You clearly have a skill issue with basic reading comprehension. Any idiot can shit out 10 HVARs and get some kills.
Hell, the normandy 110 would be way more effective if you could actually use its main armament properly too. OP also has a bit of a point that there is very little feedback on where your bombs went after your dropped them, making learning difficult for new players. Some dive bomb training module would probably help them
There’s an issue, stop trying to use a plane that’s basically meant exclusively for plane v plane against infantry and there wouldn’t be an issue
Oh it does work, I may not be a big Normandy Axis player but it definitely works, just figure out where they come from and slam some shots in their general area
Why are you strafing in the first place, strafing with guns at infantry is useless, as it kinda was IRL. The only exception to this the the Normandy 110 which is perfectly capable of strafing with the 30mms and the 37mm. If you have issues strafing with that, then that is again, a skill issue. Learn the choke points, learn which parts of which points have open tops, and learn the drop of your guns. There is no need make anything about any sort of CAS easier right now, it is easy enough as is, and the parts which are not add to the realisim.
Most planes have bombs or rockets and besides, doing CAS is a good way to become vulnerable to enemy planes yourself. Furthermore, staying in the air with a fighter longer than there is an enemy aircraft is a good way to let your team down.
Well you’re no help to your team in any of those three so your best bet is leaving the plane and getting on the ground to actually contribute
Someone posed the idea that you could choose to leave the plane and it wouldn’t count as a death and you could cycle through as normal. I like that idea very much.
