The lack of fun in Soviet BR5 is due to multiple factors. The weakness in automatic rifles (the AVS is quite good, but I can’t maintain the high level of concentration needed to achieve a 70% hit rate for an entire match), the AVT’s 15-round magazine being far inferior to the T20, and the Fedorov—while excellent and beloved by many—are all issues. Additionally, the Soviets only have one tank that can provide both anti-infantry and anti-tank support: the T-34/100, while the Germans can easily rain down 88mm artillery.
The Yak-9K also seems really fun—I’ll buy it during the next sale.

I don’t play level five Soviets for one reason, I always get my ass kicked playing level five Soviets. Approximately 15 or 20 games played level five Soviets, only “ONE” win and the rest were Seal Clubbings. If I play level five, it is Allies or Germans. No anti Japanese bias, I don’t have any level five Japanese weapons yet, just up to level four in the TT.
Yeah, at BR 5, the USSR doesn’t have a 100mm gun tank that can reliably stand up to the Tiger II. The ones they do have are either too hard to get or just not good enough. Also, the rifle situation is kinda messed up—the AVT and AVS basically do the same thing, so that needs fixing
The AVS and AVT only have minor stat differences, but the AVS deals more damage—making the choice obvious.
Massive skill issue. Why not use overpowered RD-44 instead of crying about AVS-36 which is actually really good post buff? Would 5 more rounds make it actually good? It’s already good enough you don’t need to be the best in every single weapon and vehicle type. That’s the asymetrical balance mate and you want overbuff soviets even more
Tanks in most Berlin locations are worthless as you always have narrow corners or a lot of flanking routes where infantry or tanks can take you out.
- Fedorov Rifle/MG/Avtomat = better than anything that Germany has
- AS-44 = straight upgrade to STG44 (bayonet and minor stats all upgraded)
- RD-44 = best TT lmg in the game
- PPSh-41 drum = best TT smg in the game
- RMN-50 = usable even at BR5, and since grenade rifle nerfs it’s only nade launcher that can still murder groups of the enemies
- LAD = not a single German smg can have 150 rounds
- NKVD Tommies = do i need to add more?
- AT-44 = after a buff it’s the best mid range AR in the game perfect accuracy with above average rof

- La-7 = really solid plane with great turn rate
Soviets of BR5 are way more fun to play as they have lot of variety while Germany has none it’s either KT that explodes instantly or with small delay or just boring ass STG44/FG42/MG42 100 (pure garbage vs RD-44)

No, Fedorov should be a MG and be moved to lower BRs - since they lack variety of weapons.
Instead what could be done is the devs being a bit more bold with weaker select fire rifles and assault rifles, why not move AVS to BR4 but with a damage nerf to deal MG like two hit kill dmg, while giving AVT a well deserved 20 round mag at BR5? While at it lower MKB to BR4 aswell.
