As a new player, the grind in this game is absolutely ridiculous, even with a premium account

Iirc some time ago there’s actually been a datamining of something related to a crossbow.

I dont recall them marketing this game as absolute cluster fuck of grindfest ?
Can you point out for me where they exactly said that ?

Please explain how a couple hours grind at most for a new weapon is a lot… If you think it is, you must have never played a ftp game before.
Also, I have to question if you even read my post, considering how what you quoted wasn’t even about Enlisted. But yes, grinding is part of this game and thats very obvious.

And if you’re going to quote me, do it properly and don’t intentionally misquote me.

The only thing I would like to see changed is weapon parts being shared across campaigns. We already have to share our weapon orders across them, so we should be able to split upgrade parts across them as well. Other than that i love it, i think the grind makes things more interesting.

I guess we have slightly different idea of couple of hours.
Regardless is it part of the game or not, doesnt mean it have to be insane.

But its not insane… Go look at War Thunder or World of Tanks and that can take 40+ hours to get one thing unlocked late game. There are games like Borderlands or Diablo where people will grind for hours fighting the same boss on repeat to get a slightly better weapon. Or I’ll reference MLB The Show again, where some of the “mid tier” stuff is locked behind 10 or so hours of grinding you can only do by completing missions you need to select and start, and can only do one at a time.
So if you think the 2-3 hours with premium (or 4-6 without) to complete level 29 of Normandy is a lot, you can think that because its your opinion, but its really not that long at all.

Well I play moscow, but while ur at it I wouldnt mind a video of u doing the lvl 29 in 4-6 hours.
I get average of 9-11k exp / game but definitely wont get to 29 at that time.

Yes because I obviously just have 4-6 hours of video that I recorded of me hitting level 29 in Normandy for when people asked me to prove that I did it…
But I do have some pictures from some matches.

Calculate out the XP/min rate and you can see it would’ve taken me about 5 hours to complete 180k XP necessary for a full level.

Pretty sure the OP isnt bothered of level 28-29. Rather of levels 0-29 which I highly doubt you would do in 6 hours.
Which you have to grind in every campaign.
And every faction.
Then grind the weapons / cards

This post is the definition of moving goalposts.

Me: Shows evidence proving I did it

Yeah, my bad. I thought its kind of obvious that OP aint speaking of lvl 28-29 but rather 0-29 on 4 different campaigns and in 2 factions.

And I thought it kind of obvious that my post was about how it takes a few hours to unlock a new weapon/class even at the high levels not being a long time (imo). And thus inherently that if the longest it takes to unlock something is fine then all shorter ones are also fine. Inherently also meaning that current campaign progression is also fine. But I guess not.

0-11lvl where you unlock a first usable smg is over 300k exp. Untill that your stuck with crappy smg’s & rifles. So yeah the grind is quite extensive especiatly when your doing it for 4 campaigns.

I mean its pretty obvious that our opinions differ about the direction of the game. I think its fine as is and you want everything to be unlocked in a short period of time (which would ruin the game because no one would spend money on it and people who enjoy grinding for new stuff would get bored and quit, but thats another discussion).

There is already premiums, weapons/equipment that are available only by erection coins. So I highly doubt that game would die because people wont pay to open new campaign levels. Especiatly when unlocking campaign level by cash is ridiculously priced.

So I highly doubt unlocking adequate equipment in reasonable time would kill the game, quite opposite tbh. Im quite sure theres more people who rather just quit the game than grind for adequate equipment with pisspoor equipment for hours.

If theres actually such humanbeings that enjoy the game for its grinding, fine. Add a funny hat to level 999 so the grinders can also enjoy the game while grinding for super cool hat that takes a decade to grind for.

Erection coins

On a serious note, lets break down your post.
Why would you buy premium units that are worse than normal units? The only fix would be to buff premium units to be stronger than normal units. Which would make the game P2W and would lead to a mass exodus. So terrible idea.
So lets do a list that breaks down what ways of income are lost or made irrelevant and which ones would stay:
Lost:
Premium Time Revenue
Campaign Progress Revenue
Weapon Unlock Revenue
Perk Upgrade Revenue
Battle Pass Revenue
Academy Revenue
Squad Upgrade Revenue

Made Irrelevant:
Premium Squad Revenue

Still There:
Squad Size Increase Revenue

So yeah… they lose almost all sources of revenue with your method of being given everything.

For some odd reason theres still people with premium units.

It has other bonuses as well and it even the current exp buffs & such doesnt disappear just because the grind wouldnt be insane for f2p players.

About 80k exp to campaign level costs about 2000 erection coins, thats for level 16 > 17 Im almost willing to bet my left nut that there are few to none who pay such money for such little progress.

Same as above as they are part of campaign.

Dont exactly see how this would be affected by lowering the grind on campaign.

Pretty sure this one offers unique stuff anyway and doesnt affect to campaign progress.

Another thing I dont exactly see how would it be affected by lowering the grind of campaign.

And same as above.

We’re speaking of campaign progress.

So based off your quote:

I assumed you just wanted everything unlocked at start or to be unlocked and fully equipped after just a little bit of play (say 24 hours per campaign). So thats what I based this post off of. If you have different thoughts a more clear outline would be nice.

Not like premium units give faster research time or are better than starter units making them good for starting a new campaign, but bad if all stuff is already unlocked

Wow that extra +2 squads and 100 reserve slots is really worth $10 a month when people could just buy said slots for the same price…

Well you probably should cut it off then with the large amount of people who were using jumbos a few days after the Normandy release or the people in Berlin right now that weirdly are running around with drum mag ppshs…

I’m sure a decent amount of people pay for it. And especially for gold weapons. Which I see a ton of that people bought. Add on top of the fact you’ve stated already that it takes a long time to grind and you want the grinding shortened, this would lose them money because weapons would be unlocked faster.

Wow, a battle pass with just random customize the character and change their name, plus one gold soldier and weapon… So unique…

Regarding squad upgrade and academy revenue. You’ve stated previously you wanted to reduce grind for pretty much everything, all of these would obviously suffer as a result.

I question if you understand what a domino/butterfly effect is. Where changing one thing changes all things in the game. Because changing the grind to be as short as I’m assuming you want it to be would massively influence the game and their economic income. But maybe I’m assuming wrong on how short you want the grind to be or the changes you want affected.

We were speaking of campaign as theres already a shit ton of grind anyway. Wouldnt hurt the game if the campaign had less grind.

Such squads can be tweaked.

Also can be tweaked and for some odd reason people is currently buying it too, regardless are they max level or not.

brb scrissors.

Thought the gold weapons are part of battlepass that doesnt affect the campaign.

If ppl is willing to put hundreds of euros to unlock jumbos / ppsh in 1 campaign I highly doubt they have problem with the battlepass then.

Pointed out that theres still shit ton of grinding even if the campaign had less grind.

Take the CS for example, it doesnt have any weapon unlocks what comes to gameplay. Yet with micro payment it does absolute cluster fuck of money.
So no, “forcing” people to grind with absolute garbage gear for hours before you get adequate equipment aint the only way of making money.
Infact id still argue that people rather spent hundreds to something actually useful than unlocking the levels 0-29 in campaign. Or just quit the game for good and buy few other games with those saved hundreds.
I really doubt that such few inviduals who have done that are the ones that keeps the game running.

If they really plan to expand each campaign to lvl 40 or so, they better cut the requirements for intermediate levels at some point, or else the total XP required for a single campaign will get so insanely high that newer players won’t even bother.
