As a new player, the grind in this game is absolutely ridiculous, even with a premium account

Cant agree more, the grind and paying for levels needs to go, along with most pay to gain scenarios.

I think the point is, that you have to start over if you switch sides or change the campaign. and with the insane grind, most probably wont. this can end up with dead campaigns because people will stick to where they are highest level.(down the road)

Nope… no no no.

Why? Why would I want to have shared resources?
I chose to play Soviet Moscow, I am x level, why would I want to get railroaded to the same level for Soviet Berlin?

It’s like playing a strategy game as one nation, starting a new game and having the same technology unlocked in a new game with another faction?
Why?.

No it’s not.
Why should it be if I get a pre war Kar98 in Moscow on a maxed out recon squad, should I expect the same squad in Berlin?
Or even, that a Berlin G43 sniper squad would magically travel back to Moscow?
No, it makes complete sense to start over on a new campaign.
Also, where different weapons appeared in different theatres, like Japanese weapons during Moscow where the Red Army was panic arming anyone with a heartbeat wouldn’t make sense 4 years later in Berlin.

I feel like you are either a moron or a troll.
Because then you have fighting and maps based on different eras of the war.
If it was just generic Soviet v Axis, then the game would just transcend into Stg44 v Ppsh. And then you should just play cod

tbh i LOVE grinding the kar98k over and over and over again, I also like it when people step on my family jewels.

I think the grind is on many levels, campaign level, soldier level, and weapon level. I don’t have an issue with the rate of grinding, but I’m not a fan of levelling lots of troops just to lose them in the academy, basically binning 1/3 of my work, however you dress it up its the mechanic there is, and if it changed you’d still have to grind, so pick your poison. my advice is learn the avaliable system and make it work for you because if you demand the devs make it work for you will get something delivered with strings attached.

UMM OP you know you can save your silver tickets and such and use them on any side or any mission. Only exception is level 1 on the map.
Secondly I played the Germans in Berlin for the first time and came in first. And won. Went from level 1 to level 4.
Then moved to the Russians came in second and lost. And went up 3 levels.
I am not using a Uber PC or a Uber Internet.
Also this was Peak times on Friday.

Haha in cbt I was addicted for the first few weeks, played maybe 4 times a week. In Normandy campaign I played on and off and still got lvl 29 before most people

Do you really think i enjoy playing 6 games just to gain one level in a late game squad?

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if you actually did kek

Can’t you just enjoy playing, knowing the rewards will come? It’s common practice for any game like this to increase the “grind” each level until it slows down considerably the higher you get. You want a nice shiny prize after every match? You already get weapon & troop orders after every match.

Jokes aside, I played CoD 2 for hours and hours back in the day. There was no grind at all, just 7 or 8 guns per faction. Games were perfectly enjoyable with no unlocks. The difference now is more famous or powerful weapons are often behind a grind wall. I still have lots of fun with the basic kit though, but as they add more campaign levels they should adjust the grind.

Didn’t say that, i just think it’s stupid that if i want to unlock more American squads in Normandy (the most cancerous campaign though it has been toned down after arty nerf) I need to constantly play the game. I’m fine with playing a couple hours a day or whatever but considering this game’s many glitches, unbalances, and the P2W nature it needs to be worked on, which it is.

Ah yes. Another idiotic first post complaining about how long it takes to unlock everything. OP obviously doesn’t know what a ftp game is. And with premium, it shouldn’t take any more than 600 hours to complete all 4 campaigns playing both axis and allies. OP complains that because he played Germans on one campaign he can’t spawn in on another and stomp everyone with the stuff he unlocked in that campaign. This is a suggestion liked by 9 users? Its actually laughable.

To compare to a paid game, I bought MLB The Show (yes, a sports game, hate on me all you want) for its full price of $70 and have played it for around 150 hours. After 150 hours of gameplay, I have unlocked roughly 30% of the current content. With the later stuff being harder to get than earlier stuff (sound familiar?) and more stuff being added every week. With big content updates every month. Their “battlepass” is free but requires roughly 70 hours of gameplay for a good player to complete and only lasts for 1 month. Note this is all for a full priced game, and its still acceptable, because thats the POINT OF THE GAME. Its to unlock new shit and have fun using it. Not get everything given to you in a fucking hand basket.

What he meant by that was that there will be 8 different campaigns needed to level (4 campaigns of 2 sides each). OP just wants everything given for free in a ftp game

ok, so basically this is just a rehashed “universal exp” topic

Which would in effect make the game even worse for the grind, because you’d need 8x the xp for one level

first 100 hours of gameplay are knife only battles since nobody has the starter rifle unlocked for any campaign.

Honestly why even have an XP system? Just have players pay the real life gun value at production time to use the weapon
