As a new player, the grind in this game is absolutely ridiculous, even with a premium account

The stupid campaign setup is basically their sneaky way of putting and extra 8 battlepasses into the game in the form of campaigns. YOUR GAME DOES NOT NEED 8 FUCKING BATTLEPASSES. ONTOP OF THE ACTUAL BATTLEPASS. HAVE ONE WITH COMBINED REWARDS.

I would be okay with having to unlock your stuff twice, one for the allies side, and one for the axis side.

For example lets say you play the battle of berlin campaign, and you level up the russians. If you switch to a different campaign, and play as the americans (who are also allies) you should transfer over progression from the russian side to that one. It is absolutely fucking ridiculous to expect players to unlock their shit like 6 times over.

I chose the battle of berlin campaign, as axis side, and have used most of my achievement rewards leveling up my recon squad. So if I switch to a different campaign, leveling up will be extremely slow because I am no longer able to reliably get the silver gun and troop things.

At least if you’re gonna seperate progress for each campaign, then seperate the achievements too so that way you can get those rewards like you did in the previous campaign you played.

Its also extremely scummy how if you unlock stuff for the germans on one campaign, you still need to unlock stuff for the germans if its on a different campaign.

Why are there even different campaigns to begin with? All you’re doing is locking players off from the other 3/4ths of the game because they dont feel like starting over just to play some new maps.

Weapons that would otherwise be in the base game are completely stripped from you and thrown at the very end of the campaign level. Like a basic machine gun.

Basically, this whole game is set up so that even if you pay for premium. You will eventually hit a point where you have no way of reliably getting those weapon and troop orders so you’ll be forced to pay for them.

Don’t even get me started on the leveling system for guns and soldiers.

um? what do you mean by 8 battlepasses? there is only 1 battlepass and it’s shared by all campaigns?

The game is in beta no this is actually a second early access for the game, and no one Force you to play unfinished game, so if you want a complete game perfectly balanced, you are fortunate theres plenty other shooter to play

While this is a grindy game, what you suggested there would get too many players to the (current) endgame too quickly.

You unlock silver orders frequently, you’re talking shit.

Its also extremely scummy how if you unlock stuff for the germans on one campaign, you still need to unlock stuff for the germans if its on a different campaign.

Each faction has different guns and a different progression tree in each campaign they’re in, because each campaign is set at a different period during the war. It wouldn’t make any sense if you played Berlin and then carried those late-war guns into Normandy…

Nobody is gonna disagree that Enlisted is grindy, but really, learn a bit about how the game works before shitting your pants all over the forum.

This game is an absolut grind fest, that for sure.

I agree that even with premium time, the grind is boring in higher levels.
The amount of work needed to get levels and to train higher squads is … stupid.

I don’t want to know how this stuff will be if lvl 40 for campaigns are out.
Or even higher tier soldiers! In one of the threads someone told me that they plan to introduce tier 5 soldiers of each type. Thinkabout the grind and micromanagement with all those unneccessary stuff.

I stopped to invest money into this game. It is fun, yes but I am really scared what they will do until release.

The grind is pretty fast for lower levels, when I’m playing casually around level 18-20 is where it starts to noticeably slow down. That being said, the equipment starts to get strong, and I keep myself entertained by mixing up my squads, upgrades and weapons, or having a break with another campaign.

When War Thunder began to get very grindy, exp requirements were adjusted as the game grew. That might happen one day.

OP means 8 separate campaign progressions. 1 campaign progression per side on 4 campaigns = 8 campaign progressions.

Here (though you need the wider context of the post to see it) OP is complaining (legitimately) about how campaign progression is separate for each side on each campaign but the orders you get while playing a certain side is not only limited to that side. It is certainly a problem newer players and players who haven’t built up their orders yet experience, however once you have built up your orders from grinding out a campaign it makes the other campaigns slightly easier and eventually you’ll have no shortage of orders (once you realise the tricks to the game). He’s also complaining (again another legitimate complaint) about the fact that there is a not-insignificant (euphemism) grind between levels making getting silver orders slow - especially given how much the game seems to encourage you to spend them to get what you want.

War Thunder was always super grindy and never stopped being grindy, even with the token EXP adjustments. Thoroughly designed to get people to part with their money. This game will become like WT in terms of grind after they add most of the content and all the campaigns (this will indubitably become a barrier for new players), fragmenting the player base between the campaigns in the process.

Oh yeah, it is grindy, but at tier 4-5 (what used to be end-game) the reduction have been big. Some tanks have gone from 200k+ xp to 120k. It’s tier 6 and 7 where the grind is really big now, but I don’t play those tiers.

Nah. Grind is fine. Unlocking everything really fast is stupid

I like the grind. Game is awesome and it is fun to slowly unlock new toys. Would be no fun to unlock everything super fast without time to actually try the last unlock out.

It doesn’t take long to level up if you know what you’re doing. Plus leveling up fast isn’t the point of the game. The one thing I will say is starting out with bolt action/subpar smg squads really sucks ass, but you get the time to learn the game. Otherwise you’ll just be a burden to the team. When I was in CBT I was top 3 every game. If you’re getting only 20-30 kills per game, it’s probably just you.

One thing I agree with is how you have to unlock soldiers at every campaign, but that’s monetization. The game can’t live without it. I was pretty pissed off when my favorite crew in Moscow got deleted. That’s why I chose one campaign and stuck with it. Catch you in Normandy.

PS I spent around 100$ already, nothing

as i stated in a separate thread they don’t need to lessen the grind but they do need to move the important weapons and gadgets lower down

all AT weapons should be level 1-4 unlocks and if they insist on the current balancing so to should the semi autos

Fragmenting the playerbase is a side effect. The main goal of progressively adding new campaigns is to keep milking whales, as they migrate from older to newer content.

I dont know why you insulted me when I did nothing to you. I suppose knowing what I’m on about is not allowed…

why does everyone complain about grinding? instead of playing, in 10-15 levels they get a very respectable equipment and can compete on an equal footing with everyone, there is nowhere written that you can only win by having the lv 30 and all the stuff unlocked if you are good at playing you are if not, learn and have fun

It’s more than possible to outplay others with the first squads without a single change into them.

People focus so much on the grind that they forget to have fun to begin with.

IF one campaign was all u had to do, to unlock everything for all maps (Normandy, Moscow, Berlin and so on), it would be fine.
BUT the fact you have to do it 4 fking times OR 8 if you want to play both sides. is completely fking retarded. the game is good, but the progression is pay to progress. Im like 47 hours in, and only rank 15 in the moscow campaign. and level 4 in the Normandy one. luck

Sad thing is, I cant be asked to play Normandy because of how far I am in Moscow so if I end up actually finishing the campaign, the chances of me doing it all over again on a different map is very slim. this game is tailored to a small player base, because of the massive grind [many don’t have time for]

The INSANE price tags on the items makes it even more ridiculous. 25 fking eurs to level one campaign level… first of all an option that’s should not even be there. only things I can get behind is the premium (if you remove the +2 squads), cosmetics and battle pass.

What a shame could have been a lot better if the company behind it wasn’t so damn greedy. ofc the sweaty try hards are going to point out, how they also need to make money. simply make it a normal retail game, with cosmetics.
