Artillery Spam please STAHP

Artillery spam, especially on invasion maps, is entirely out of hand, in particular at the very start of the game. Combine all the spam together with bombing runs, explosive packs all over the place, tank HE and mortars and you a meatgrinder simulator that straight up isn’t fun to play on invasion. On conquest it’s more spread out, so it’s not really an issue and requires good positioning and skill to play, but invasion is utterly awful. Le Bre and Ruins of Vaux are possibly the worst for it, since the capture points are so small with limited flanking opportunities.

Yes, we need more topics like this, I know its been done to death, but it’s still relevant and we can’t forget this is game-breaking.

like iv said many times… they need to give each team a physical ammo limit for artillery shells that slowly refills over time…

that way people can still use artillery to

clap em like patrick

but if they do choose to spam artillery they run the risk of running out of shells when you really need em

all i do is spam artillery, cycle through my planes and tanks and I get 100+ kills every single match, hundreds of assists and land in the top 3 every single time. Game has devolved tremendously.

Don’t forget planes, their bombs are even more game breaking.

Only the Planes with the 1000kg/2000lb Loads of x4 250kg/500lb bombs… the rest of the planes are alright

true the P-51C could use an upgrade from 100lb bombs to 250lb bombs since the damn thing is cleared for x2 500lb bomb loads in real life…

Planes is extremely powerful irl. They are quite weak in this game in comparison, they dont even destroy buildings like they should

They should give ground troops to fight back like this

Artillery does need a massive nerf however, it requires 0 skills and makes nearly everyone near that zone unable to zim for 15 sec, then another artillery comes…

No this is bullshit. Artillery in this game is realistic and it is one of the things that make the game great. Over 90% of infantry and general casualties in WWII were from artillery or explosives (including tanks & bomber planes). It is in no way overpowered in the game (just avoid the red dots or take cover) and very few people are dumb enough to die from it (the main and only issue is with bots in squads mod not taking proper cover). Curbing it would be unrealistic and unfunny. Fix the bots not taking cover instead.

They unintentionally buff Artillery’s Damage with a Bug, even Confirmed by Developers

Realistic? Ok, would you please name one battle in WW2 (or any war, for that matter) where either of the sides had unlimited artillery shells?

Golden MG42 with collimator and muzzle brake.

Actually, the damage of the Artillery is pretty high now (thanks for HE buff update) I think the damage number between before Update and the current damage, is would be the best imo.
Also, the Radio squad in the same time on battlefield, is a problem as well.
On of the match of yesterday theres was 4 red circle on our position…I dont need to say what was the result of that battle…

Please name a single side of ww2 who had an artillery ammunition shortage.

Seriously, if you play as radio operator with frequent strike you can hardly get 100 kills on invasion, while you can get way over that while playing as tanker or bomber plane. This isn’t realistic as artillery killed WAY more people, especially infantry, than tanks and bombers.

ARTILLERY DOES NOT NEED A CURB.

It is currently great the way it is. The thing that might need a fix is the bot ai in Squads mode not taking proper cover from artillery. This is something actually frustrating as, for instance, I took cover inside a building and went on prone and order them to do the same. They all went on prone OUTSIDE the building and got annihilated. Fix THAT, not the artillery strikes because THEY ARE NOT OVERPOWERED.

Its so funny when bomb spammers try defend their broken GAME mechanics with realism.

Im pretty sure soviets didnt attack with couple hundreds soldier to reichstag or other places in germany. Or they coulnt advance further unless they ‘captured’ some lamp next to opera house by standing next to it

This game has no environmental destruction so that’s a moot point. Also you can’t have realistic strength planes when the gameplay, game design, map design, map size and play area is already not realistic and too small for it. Further, the bombs in Enlisted are far more potent than whats available in pretty much any other FPS.

Easy. Soviets in the early stages of the war. But see the next point:

I don’t think you understand how it worked IRL. Regardless of how many shells you have stockpiled in a warehouse somewhere, the logistics was complicated. Artillery wasn’t always available, simple as that. “We would shell the shit out of that location, but the train with all the ammunition didn’t make it, cause a section of the railroad was destroyed. Please stay on the line, your call is very important to us.”.
Second point: what do you think would happen to a radio-operator that knowingly called multiple artillery strikes on a location with friendlies?
You want realism - well, how about you permanently lose that radio-operator to court-martial after every match? That’d be somewhat realistic.
I am all for realism, but what you’re describing is not it.

Ha you know what? Lets just give him his realism!

Go for it, more dmg for planes! I’m absolutely for it! With the drawback of doing bombing runs only every 3 hours tho, since we are aiming for realism right?

Nice. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh yeah, it’s totally realistic for a company-sized element to be supported by an entire artillery battalion, 2 planes, and 2 tanks at the same time.

Don’t forget needing a minute to call for fire, then a few more minutes for the artillery to make sure it’s on target and start hitting
