Artillery buff is so good that

… now you get team killed with it almost as often as killed by the enemy ones.

I mean, if you buff the damage on artillery, intentionally or not, at least please reduce the friendly fire percentage on it.

friendly fire needs to stay. it get spammed way too much and no playing as private michael J fox is not my priority in this game

jokes aside, it should remain, but the main issue is when it gets spammed.

the only way to somewhat counter this, would be to give a huge penalty expressed points which will reduce the overhall reward. ( to those who commits TREASON! )

artillery should be deadly to both sides. some people may not agree with me but the recent nerf to artillery but buffing the damage is what should be.

Which is what’s happening right now in game wounds and kills unlike before.

When the red screen comes up I couldn’t tell you if its friendly or enemy fire … But I agree that radio ops should be penalized for excessive friendly fire casualties.

However I will say this for the team members that like to play Rambo behind the enemy lines … You shouldn’t get penalized for those friendly casualties …

No penalty! team mates sometimes mark areas where enemies are for planes and artillery and mortar if you try to to get in when you see the red circle that’s your problem.
btw what penalty would you want?

I said for excessive FF casualties … If it happens a few times that’s just part of war but if a certain player makes a habit of getting FF casualties their should be a warning. And if it happens too much then they should have XP taken away or be banned from calling indirect fire for a certain amount of time …

Even if the player were able to kill enemies too?

Come on, guys. There should be no friendly fire on artillery, only concussion. There is no friendly fire from grenades. No friendly fire from tank HE. No friendly fire from plane bombs.

But, there is now HEAVY friendly fire from arty. It’s inconsistent and silly.

I’d argue, it should only cause concussion and be consistent with other sources of friendly HE.

the fact that you are mad at artillery causing any friendly fire shows me you crutch way too hard with it. learn to play and stop spamming it mindlessly.

Dude, come on. What do you mean “L2P and stop spamming it mindlessly”. I’m the Rambo type of player, always on the front line, capping points, flanking the enemy. I don’t have a single Radio dude in any of my squads. And my problem is that this patch I die of friendly arty fire A LOT, which wasn’t the case before this patch at all.

I don’t want to change my playstyle because devs gave my teammates the ability to easily kill me and my squads now.

On the other hand, I hope teammates will learn to use it properly. My squad was torn to pieces 4x by bombardment in a single game today, so I feel your pain. Just as I got past the enemy circle to start recapturing our position, our own circle cleaned it from me. Other times it was probably mortar and twice plane. Hard times even for Rambo, and I’m far from that. :slight_smile:

Help your team win the objective don’t do it for the number of kills priority should be the objective.

It ain’t that easy as it sounds. I had a game yesterday on D-Day, which has a few open points to contest, and allies will often spam artillery on top of a defended point, to kill the enemies on it. While the enemies will often drop artillery on the path to the point.

And there you have it. Your “L2P” moment. You have a wide are before the point covered in enemy artillery, that you have to navigate around or wait out. Waiting out sometimes work, often doesn’t, cause the spam never ends. So you navigate around it, which leads you into more open areas that are being camped by the enemy. So, you clutch your LMG or semi or whatever and go into annihilator mode and kill all the enemies camping the flanks to the point. You succeed and now can move into the point.

It has been a long ride till this point, you’ve spent your last 3-4 minutes navigating around enemy arty and killing enemies. Now, after all that time and effort, you get to the point… and… DIE TO FRIENDLY FIRE ARTILLERY, cause some dude on the team dropped it on the point to kill the enemies there.

There is no winning in this situation. The dude said sorry in chat. You lost your squad on the point, he lost possibly the only friendly infantry squad trying to capture the point.

So what do you guys suggest? Tell everyone on your team “Don’t use arty on points”? I did. One guy said sorry. Next squad, I got team arty killed by another guy who doesn’t care.

And here we are, having a very toxic gameplay scenarios in which hardly anyone on your team “wins”.

Except theres no responsibility currently or far as I know theres still no way to kick those or even autokick for TK.
