New to the game, just wondering if there’s any classes I should avoid grinding for. My favourite at the minute are Radio Operator and Sniper. Currently got my sights on Mortarman, APC Driver and Machine Gunner. I’m maining USSR by the way.
Firstly.ensure you have Engineer in your each team.and make rally point close capture point around 35-60m.
Secondly.dont build your rally point on second floor.
Thirdly.put your AI into the capture point.and stop your enemy to capture your point.
And forget your Mosin Nagant Sniper.BR1(PPD34) and BR2(PPS43) SMG and Medic assault will be your best friend in the starting.
Assault troops, anti-tank troops, engineering troops, communication troops, and personnel carriers must have
Snipers are of little help to the battle situation
The performance of machine guns in the early Soviet Union was very poor
Mortars are not as cost-effective as communications squads
Avoid french class, just speak English like normal people do.
There’s a French class??
Most important to grind, are engineers.
The very next are:
- your preferences. YOU play. Play what you enjoy the most. There’s NO wrong choice contrary to some biased opinions.
(But engineers are a must)
Fuck Mortar.
Note:
Apc drivers can substitute engineers in a way… since you spawn apcs which act just like rally points. They’re a good alternative (but they cannot build anything)
Just remember apc drivers are ONLY used in the unique apc squad. You can only get 1, and you cannot add them in other squads unlike riflemen for example.
Mortars are pretty situational, but they can be extremely handy at the beginning of an assault, by peppering around and behind the point. This can allow your teammates to push much faster to it. They do tend to run out of usefulness towards the end of the match though, but can still be used as an alternative rifle squad, with the right soldiers.
APCs/Trucks are useful as they allow you to essentially “build” two rally points. They too can be equipped with an array of different soldiers which adds some flexibility to them.
MG squads can be effective too, plus the MG Engineer can build MG nests which other teammates can use. The Madsen isn’t great, but with the right perks and fully upgraded, they’re not bad either.
A lot of people go for AT squads over MGs. They have a similar flexability to MGs, being that your engineer can build AT cannons and AA guns.
Assaulters tend to be my go-to, because I like to charge in and CQC points and chokepoints. The USSR SMGs are excellent in lower BR too.
I must correct, mortar squads are extremely versatile, they can, not counting the 2 mortar guys, have either 2 assaulters making it a nice assault squad, or 2 engineers +1 assaulter, or even a sniper in them. Some cap zones even later in the match are outdoors, and a nice lil mortar salvo can soften it up nicely AND smoke the place (underrated thing)… tier 2 mortars can also accurately explode ANY tank over great distance, behind cover (80mm mortars)…
The only issue is they are more difficult to USE WELL. Most just dump all their shells and rush.
Low BR mortars are not good against tanks, and neither is a mortar squad good for newbies.
Mortar and rider squads are the ones I wouldn’t recommend to any newcomer.
I agree with this. It takes some learning of the map (chokepoints, point location, etc.) to be truly terrifyingly effective.
I tend to use one barrage on the point, then fire off a second barrage at the probable reinforcement direction. This seems to work nicely.
Mortars are good for newbies if said newbies simply enjoy playing with them, which is really all that matters.
But mortar squads, like I said, are also extremely versatile, they can do a bit of everything.
Also judging by what the OP posted (he likes radiomen and snipers), he seems to be a player who enjoys supporting roles… mortar squads might be right up his alley. He would probably even attack more the cap zones using them than he would snipers or radiomen too… (when out of shells, most simply charge ahead)
You can say that about any squad. Which was not the point of what the OP was asking. Literally a worthless statement.
I honestly cannot in good faith recommend a squad of mortarmen and riders to any newcomer.
Both are extremely tedious to level up. (Especially the rider squad). Whereas a mortar squad can really shine once you truly learn the maps and can predict the behavior of enemy players.
Recommending these two squads to newbies is a disservice. Chances are very high that they won’t have fun with them.
I would recommend the following:
- Engineers, because they are the most important class in the game and you want to have all the upgrades available for your engineers.
- Rush for the assault squad - literally for the same reason, just not as important as engineers. (Quite a grind, since you need to get through medics first) + smgs are used for vehicle crewmen.
- rush for the APC squad. (That’s the most versatile squad in the game, not the mortar one. But you don’t need upgrades for APC drive, thus it is not as important as assaulters and engineers)
Finally, focus on the tank/aircraft line depending on your preference.
All the other squads are just filler and you don’t need to target upgrades for those more specialized soldiers, you don’t need them to have access to all the upgrades. Because you’ll only end up using them very situationally.
I would only target them after you get more squad slots and/or after you get all the upgrades for your engineer squad that can be replaced later. Because you will use these engineers in all other squads.
But of course. Anyone can play whatever (s)he wants.
Sniper. Avoid Sniper. Useless and noncontributing to the team. Get literally any other class and get on that objective
I disagree about mortarmen, they’re pretty quick to level up, especially considering the weapon has no upgrade path.
But yeah, the rider squad desperately needs an XP buff, because having just two soldiers in that squad makes levelling up almost impossible. And this is coming from a player who uses them regularly!
Not recommended if you don’t have any extra squad slot since it will explode when you spawn a new one and you will need to drive it from the spawn all over again.
It takes me a hell of a long time. I have one stock squad in para themed preset. But it’s true that I use them when it’s really worth it. Since I have an 11 squad slot, I can afford to pick more situational squads depending on my needs.
Mortars are not flexible.
- You need engineers to use the Mortarmen otherwise it is pointless to have the squad in the first place. So you are limited to one auto gun in low BR.
- Mortars do not work well in maps with many roofed CPs and routes.
- Normal mortars cannot kill (most) tanks.
- You sit in the back all the time.
- Aiming with mortars requires skill, map knowledge, luck and/ or teamwork.
