Any classes that should be avoided?

Of course, since it didn’t come from you, eh? :smirk:

It’s not to be avoided if the guy likes it. There’s no wrong choice, like I said before: all what matters is for the player to have fun.

Only engineers should be truly prioritized. The rest is up the the player’s preferences

No, but you basically just said “all squads are equal as long as you are having fun with them”.

I’m not saying that’s not true. It just doesn’t have much value. I doubt that’s answer he was asking for.

Hold on.

I never said anywhere that all squads are equals.

I only said OP should prioritize what he enjoys playing, and as such, no choice or order is wrong.

(Except engineers, a must)

Yes. But I don’t think anyone needs to be told that. If so, in that case… No comment.

My understanding was that he was asking about squads purely based on their importance and performance.

And I would categorize the mortarmen and rider squads as squads that are definitely not for all players and certainly not important in any way.
You don’t even unlock weapon upgrades through them.

Btw. Sorry For my yoda-like language. I have totally messed-up sleep schedule thanks to all the sweltering temperatures. And I have like one working brain cell rn.

Yes, it’s what he asked… But to me, fun of use is top of the list for importance.

Ofc, mortars aren’t meta. But they might be much more fun to use (for some) than regular assaulters seen in all existing fps or almost

I mean, my favourite class is the basic rifleman turd… I just like it. Moreso than assaulters. But I do know assaulters are better at, well, assaulting.

Yeah, but I think you have made it sound too good. And I stand by my opinion that it’s disservice to recommend such squad for newcomers.
Mortar is squad with extremely specific feature that’s not very newbie friendly.

avoid snipers… while they are good for getting lots of kills with few deaths, they are practically useless for winning the game.

your priority should be engineers for building rally points(although APC can do that job, but somewhat worse) and assaulters with big ammo bag cause they are best class to contest caps(specially with soviets and pps42 or pps43 if you are confident in your recoil control).

machine gunners are meh at least on low BR, although you can have fun lots of fun with HMG when you build it, mortar squad is pretty situational cause it is great on open maps, specially if you are attacker, but sucks whenever cap is inside building and it also requires some map knowledge if you want to shoot anywhere besides cap (or requires spotter which you hardly get unless you get your friend to do it).

Do you know what’s requirement for unlocking big ammo pouches now?

I remember that we needed something like 17th campaign level to unlock them pre merge.

Tier 2 Tech-Tree, if I remember rightly.

Edit - As in, unlock the 6 required weapons of Tier 2. I assume that’s what the game means as “complete”.

Grind as quick possible:

-Radio operator squad
-Ennginer squad
-Assault/machine gunner
-tank or plane your preference

this should be the classes that you should grind first.

Avoid:

Sniper: is sastifising but it don´t helps in battlefield

Riflemen: is a decent squad but there are better priorities.

Mortarmen: You need to practice and know the maps for using propely this thing also is a situacional squad so not always is gonna to work

Noice. This is great news for new players. I expected it to be much worse.

Just a preface: The way I play heavily leans into SMGs and assault rifles as opposed to SF rifles.
Mortar isn’t worth it. The squad just isn’t diverse enough to be worth the slot in your lineup. Radio op is nice to have, but sniper isn’t really worth it unless you’re using a sniper STG/MKB. The problem with sniper squads is that the way you play them almost discourages you from playing the cap.
APC is a nice-to-have, but an engineer will do the job of an APC.
I would focus on engineer and medic/assaulter. AT gunner is also pretty nice to have.

Imo none

All have a part into the battlefield

Even flamethrowers or mortar squads (closed capture points or open ones for mortars at the start of a match)

But, imo, you can always prioritize a strong baseline for your most active squads and the ones you see playing the most, then, rotate 1 or 2 squads from now and then to keep upgrading them and have always a diferent experience with diferent guns and squads.

There is no perfect recepie we can tell you, its always how you, and your team aproach the battlefield.

The most recommended squads to unlock for any nation in order:

  • Engineer (a must for ammo, AT guns, Rallys, etc.)

  • Anti tank (tanks are a nightmare on most maps at a range without them, making it so you have to run over and use TNT and Explosive packs without them as the only other way at longer range is to destroy them with another vehicle or use a engineer built gun)

  • Next your preference, I personally unlocked machine gunners as soon as I got to Tier 2, as well as radio op and assaulter II. but this requires you to first unlock medics which are essentially the same thing with lower stats and healing boxes.

My recommendation if you want to put butts in chairs, max out the soldier upgrades for riflemen. Don’t need to to the squad and weapons (although it helps). This lets you fill a empty spot with a riflemen, more soldiers more time in the field between respawns.

You can steal riflemen from any squad that has more then the number of soldiers it started with.
Example: riflemen starts with 5, radio op starts with 3, etc. If you need to steal a few soldiers out of a 6+ man Rifleman squad or a 5+ man specialist squad it helps fill your numbers in the early matches for the first BR until you have enough silver for better soldiers after a dozen or so matches in. The prices used to be much worse so 600 silver ( was 3000) isn’t to bad and makes this method less useful then before but still a option if your saving for a vehicle or a lot of equipment in the early game.

EDIT: don’t rush into late tier as it’s full of sweats and faster gameplay. Enjoy your time and build your armies up for later tier a little more slowly, focus on filling out a little bit of a BR I/II set up as a fall back for if you get bored or it’s to much for you in higher BR. A few squads armed to the teeth with BR II gear will work wonders compared to bare minimum squads at higher tier levels with only a few weapons.
