Allow the Japanese to Fight against the Soviets

Do you really want to get into that much detail on the difference between Russia and USSR? Come on man.

Actually…While we are on specifics. My comment was technically correct

Even though it was in jest. Just having a laugh

Okay, have it your way.
Russia lost 1905 to Japan, Mongolia won Japan at 1945. Happy?

Though the war is officially known as “Soviet Japanese War” or “Liberation War of 1945”, and the 1905 war is known as Russo-Japanese War.
Would you call Austro-Hungarian Campaigns as Hungarian Campaigns too, or all American wars British Wars?
Or even better yet, the Crimean War was between USSR and NATO circa 1886?

When you speak of terms, use the correct ones.

Thats a fantasy film that is not faithful to historical fact. The main characters, a Japanese and a Korean, are captured by the Soviets and fight against the Germans as Soviet soldiers and are captured again and fight against the Americans on Omaha Beach as Germans and finally compete in the Olympics Game. It is an absurd movie and is not suitable for quotes discussing historical battles.

Look dude. This is a game forum. If I want to learn history of Russia I will go back to college and retake “history of Russia” class where it spanned all of its history, which was a hard class by the way. So don’t lecture me on historical context.

This is not the place for political discussions. Historical discussions are welcome if they directly relate to the suggestion at hand, namely, military history that is directly concerned with this suggestion in the context of warfare. Stay on-topic.

Sry, you are wrong. I killed T34 regularly with detpacks. So what now ?

And yes Khalkin Gol Area would be nice.

Hong Kong, Singapore and Burma should come first, but following the update, Khalkhin Gol would make sense. Manchuria might be more complicated with the rank soft lock maps system though, unless they just ignore that entirely in that case.

We have some little problem here.
Sorry, i lied. We have HUGE problems:
1- japan has nothing to counter even 1941 soviet tanks.
2- new mm clearly stated " only newbie us players will face japan". Do you know what this means ? Pacific maps will NEVER be balanced at all. Dedicated japanese veterans will steamroll us newbies like current pacific situation. So you also want them to steamroll ussr newbies ?
A lot of people suggested dividing weapons and vehicles as early mid late war periods and adding ingame info. So with that people could change their squad set up to play in different periods. And veterans can easily acces early period maps. But seems like devs dont care. Most of the player will just spam late war meta sh*t anyways.
3- japan also have nothing to counter rocket launching soviet or us planes. They never developed one. Not even prototypes.
4- northern manchuria and inner mongolia (where most of the border conflicts took place) are flat steppes. Hundreds of kilometers of nothingness . How to play on those maps without turning matches into snipingfests ?

Add Chi NU and Chi To.

LOL, you need to read the news carefully. They said it is because Japan does not currently have weapons and vehicles from the later stages of the war. So it will be different situation when those late war vehicle and weapons is released.

Did you at least try to do any research? There are several Japan aircraft armed with rocket in War Thunder.

There’s your answer.

If you went to college in that 3rd world country of yours and paid about a $142,000 for that education, and still don’t know the difference between USSR and Imperial Russia of Nicholai II, I’d ask for a refund. Money fucking well spent. This is 3rd grade stuff for normal people even in Uganda, I don’t know how basic history is so warped in the mighty McAmerica but this is unreal.

USSR is a bit more than just Russia, and Russia is not USSR. Russia lost the war against Japan, and USSR won 1945 war, and the two minor clashes they had against Soviets inbetween were minor Soviet victories or stalemates.

If you don’t know, you don’t know.

Not to mention that nothing the japanese aircraft have cannot pierce IL-2’s armor. Air-2-Air combat goes to IL-2. The 20mm german main cannon cannot pierce IL-2 in Moscow campaign so imagine having only 7,7mm MG’s. That basically just tickles the IL-2. You’ll run out of fuel and ammo several times before managing to take one down.

Then it’s not historically correct and thus non-canonical, so I don’t know? Maybe fix the bug?

What are you trying to say? Two different guy. And apparently you also support his words.

I’m saying that a huge partition of these forums get their “research” from Commando For Action And Adventure-magazine and are proud of it.

Only the first japan fighter use only MG, the second Japan fighter have 20mm cannons. So it will just be the same situation as Moscow Axis, not worse.

Khalkhin Gol took place in 1939, and the Soviets only used T-26s, BT-5s, BT-7s, and then BA-10 armored cars (basically a BA-11 with a worse engine). The Japanese had their standard pre 1942 lineup of Ha Go, I-Go and Chi Ha. All of those tanks are incredibly lightly armored, and despite their weak guns can more than easily deal with each other. Furthermore, the planes are mostly balanced as well, with the fighters consisting of I-15s, I-16 and Ki-27s. The CAS planes are also fairly balanced, with the Japanese fielding the Ki-32, and the only time accurate plane the Russians are able to field is the BB-1. Also, if you wanted to throw the Japanese navy planes in for whatever reason, you don’t have to worry about anything because the only things they had in that time period was the A5M4 and the D3A1.

This can be fixed by giving Japan later game stuff, which the devs already said they were going to do. Sure, Japan will never have anything that can fight Jumbos and IS-2s, but if they cap Japan off at mid tier against things like M4A2s and late war 76mm T-34s, Japan has options like the Chi Nu and Chi To. Sure, this might mean Japan vets will now just stomp US and USSR mid tier players, but if a player has gotten that far in the game, They should have enough game sense and accumulated resources to be able to fight back.

Their late war Naval aircraft have rockets, which were indeed used.

This is your only correct point, however with clever placing of trenches and usage of bumpy terrain, you can make it roughly akin to the farming village in Normandy, which doesn’t see too many snipers compared to other open maps due to the lack of easily accessible perches.

The IL-2 entered service in 1941, barring it from Khalkhin Gol whatsoever where Japan and Russia can field their rifle caliber MG planes without anyone caring. Furthermore, contemporary Japanese planes are more than capable of dealing with the IL-2s bathtub, with both the 20mm Type 99 on the Zero and the .50 cal Ho-103 on the Ki 43 having more than enough ability to shoot down an IL-2 without too much hassle. Both have notably more penetration power than the 20 that the Bf 109F-1 has. Japan may have several issues when it comes to equipment that other countries can field, but they will won’t be caught lacking in the aircraft department.

After i saw that they added Ho-I to japan. Japan clearly does have the tools and gears to fight the soviets

We are currently only level 31 atm, im certain better tanks for Japan will be added eventually

I looked on the Tree of Japan on Warthunder and theres clearly tanks that can be used as Heavy Variants for Japan to combat T-34s.

TLDR- ppl that says japan has nothing to counter t34s are silly. Theres no excuse

If you need tanks from late war to “counter” a tank from 1940… well…
