What type of squads do you use as Alies for BR 2 ?
Right now im going with the following squads, but im not sure what else i will need to level up for higher levels.
109th Engineer Regiment: 2AT and Engineers ( Everyone with Lee-Enfields)
60th Engineer Battalion: 2AT and Engineers ( Everyone with M1 Carbines )
505TH Regiment: 2AT LMG and Assaulters ( Sten Mk IIs , 2 M1 Carbine and a Bren Mk I)
69TH Tank Battalion : M5A1
I feel like the 2AT with Bazooka are a must on all squads as Germany seem to have 2 Pz III with the short 75mm going around every second of the battle. What else would be worth slotting in around BR 2 ?
I’m away from my pc and I don’t know the exact units, but here it is anyway:
2 British assaulter squads
British mortar squad,
Britsh AT squad
M8 Scott
P-38 Lightning
Depends on your skill, luck and likings.
If you shoot down many enemy aircraft you can get insane amounts of XP, but you first need air targets to shoot at first.
Tanks always have something to shoot and are more fool proof, but in exchange getting uptiered renders you easy target and every squad has TNT charge/explosion pack to kill you.
Thanks for the tip, im not that far up in the rank 3 gears ( only got the 2 rifle), but i will definetly replace the Stens with the Lanchester.
Can the Crusader take out the Pz III N frontally ? Cause if it can do so maybe i can replace one of my double AT Engineer Squad with a Radio squad with 2 Engineer, or a MG squad with 2 Engineer.
But! The trick is to know WHERE to aim. The Pz3N has notoriously good hull armour, as it has an additional 20mm spaced armour protecting it.
The turret however… like all low and mid br axis tanks, is very flimsy. Bonus, that’s where they stored part of their shells! So aim at the turret and watch the fireworks.
I think Lanchesters are fine as they are br2 for smg.
Another tip about br that many newcomers forget:
don’t equip a higher br weapon too quick as soon as you unlocked it if it’s the first next br thing you unlocked and all the rest is one br lower.
Do it progressively: I often see in br5, players who have only one br5 equipment type with all the rest being low br. Needless to say, those players suffer, and blame the game with stupid things like “it’s p2w” when it’s not.
Try to spread around your research tree. So that when you do decide to join br3 match, you will have a full, well equipped team and nobody will be able to bully you.
I play random games now, in BR2, ever since they started giving the bonus xp for it. So, I’ve started playing a lot in tanks for the Germans and the other factions.
Yes, the Crusader can get a lot of kills, particularly of Infantry due to their excellent HE shells but if I see an N coming along, I try to avoid it. It’s difficult to kill, whereas when I’m in an N vs. a Crusader, it’s definitely a glass cannon as has been said. I can’t count the times I’ve one (or two)shotted Crusaders and other Allied tanks in the cozy comfort of my Panzer IV E or the N.
The Grant (or Lee) is a more durable allied tank. If you’re just learning, and you have a tank that is not-upgraded and you still have a small crew, the Grant will allow you to survive a bit longer while you learn the ropes.
If you want to support the Devs and have a bit of cash, the AC 1 is easily the best tank for the Allies in BR2, and for tank destroying, it’s the best tank overall in BR2. It also has an uncanny ability to survive against enemy grenades as well. The Crusader? Not so much.
Assault III squad with Radio, AT, and Sniper. Lanchesters, M1 Carbines, Lee-Enfield MK No.4, and Springfield sniper (Lee-Enfield sniper is BR III)
Engineer II squad with Radio and AT. M1 Carbines and Lee-Enfield MK No.4
(Rotating to level up different classes) Currently AT squad with Assault and Radio. M1 Carbines and Lee-Enfield MK No.4
P51 BR II (I think it’s the C model? two 100lbers and four 50 cals)
I personally suck with tanks, so I never use them. Some people are amazingly efficient killing machines in them. I prefer the P51 to the Lightning. The 50 cals turn enemy planes to Swiss cheese in no time. If someone on the other team calls in bombing runs, I can get 7000+ points a match easily
Aussie tank is great because more mgs that don’t overheat, but it has the same canon as the starter allies tank. Which is to say, not great. It WILL struggle destroying br2 vehicles. It will fail against pz3N. (It’s armour won’t protect it against HEAT).
Since pz3N can pen everything at it’s br thanks to HEAT shells, more armour is unnecessary…
Hence why the crusader is a great choice. It’s poorly armoured but it has an exellent canon for it’s br that will pen even the hardest br2 tanks with ease.
Again, the trick is to shoot at axis tanks turrets. Not the hull which is a common newcomer mistake.
