Ho Ni (TD), Chi Ha 12 cm and Chi Nu should be Tier 3 matched with Sherman II, Sherman 105 and M4 Sherman. Tier 4 tanks should be Chi To and Chi To Late against M 10, Jumbo and M4A1 76.
Let’s not be dumb with the current balance putting a BR 2 tank against multiple BR 4-5(WT)
The problem is probably that they want to add Tier 5 for the Japanese, and they likely plan to include the Chi-To. The question is whether the Americans will get the Pershing. In that case, the Japanese would have to receive the Chi-Ri to balance it out at least a bit. Then, theoretically, the Japanese tank line might shift back a bit in terms of tiers.
Agree, Chi Nu is at best Tier 3 and while the weapons tiers are questionable the vehicle section is really bad, Chi Ha short gun is Tier 3 like you said specially because the gun has an awful reload time(20 seconds without loader) and Ho Ni is good at Tier 2 and I’m not that sure if anything can actually do something against jumbo, the thing is that the Japanese will have to rely on having the high ground to negate the effect of the angled armor and this can be quite difficult, and Chi To or Chi Ri cannot pen Jumbo in a reliable way, and Ho Ri is just out of the picture…so yeah right now is in a tough spot unless the just make the jumbo not go into the Pacific, hopefully they will give us Type 99 magnetic mine to at least try to do something
Well, I know those tanks aren’t equal, but it’s the most powerful tank that the Japanese almost had. Even though it wasn’t fully developed, it’s still better than adding tank destroyers that only exist on paper.
IS-3 is fortunately not here yet. I think the Pershing will be added over time; I don’t see a reason why not. Since developers want Tier 5 for the Japanese, the question is whether it’s better to fight against the Allies and Soviets in Chi-To or Chi-Ri. Logically, at least Chi-Ri seems better, even if it will be at a disadvantage against enemy heavy tanks.
But I’m talking about when Tier 5 is already there, it would be better for the Japanese to have Chi-Ri instead of just Chi-To. If they only got Chi-To, it would be worse than having Chi-Ri… Either way, the Japanese will be at a disadvantage regarding tanks, that’s clear…
And I am going to return even though the suffering is beyond miserable now. I didn’t play 400+ battle for Japan for nothing. But the way things are Japan will die.
Even if we get Chi Ri it would hardly change anything really, and I disagree that Chi To would be worse than Chi Ri, we must remember that Chi Ri is just a massive Chi To and has massive weakspots and mediocre armor, yeah it has a 37mm as coaxial instead of a MG but without HE is worthless, honestly I don’t see why Japan should have a Tier 5 is not required for Japan to keep up with other nations in that aspect, the max should be Tier 4 in my opinion and add vehicles based on that, I know it has the reloading assist for 3 shots but that’s not gonna make it less of a bombing target
I agree, it wouldn’t be a significant change, and the Japanese wouldn’t match up to the USA. If the developers claim Japan will fight in the fifth tier, then I assume the maximum they can get is the Chi-Ri. Nevertheless, I agree with you; adding Tier 5 to Japan seems peculiar, akin to what we call “sucked from the finger” in Czech, and it still won’t be enough to compete with the USA.
