Add Lewis Gun into US/UK tech tree

It maybe a bit controversial as it is premium gun for soviet.

But give US/UK something high capacity in the middle instead of another 20-30 capacity machine gun before M1919A6.

This is the least controversial suggestion since they were handed out like candy after Dunkirk. It is actually a testament to Darkflow’s inability to add guns that were used extensively by the Americans, British, CW, etc.

But the Soviet lend lease deal, am I right guys…

I think it is controversial because of existence premium Lewis MG squad for soviet.

But then again that didn’t stop them from adding M4A2 76 into regular tree and premium.

The M4A2 76 was an American tank made by Americans, used by Americans, and given to Americans. The Lewis gun was a British gun designed by the British, made for the British, and used extensively by the British, but given to the Soviets. They are not the same.

There are a few special Lewis Gun variants I’d like to see added as well

I certainly would love the 47 round Lewis ( or 97 ) rounds lmg for :uk:

Still confused why we didn’t got one in Tunisia. But with the merge, there’s hope.

Under Lend-Lease, 4,102 M4A2 medium tanks were sent to the Soviet Union. Of these, 2,007 were equipped with the original 75 mm main gun, with 2,095 mounting the more-capable 76 mm tank gun. The total number of Sherman tanks sent to the U.S.S.R. under Lend-Lease represented 18.6% of all Lend-Lease Shermans.

The first 76mm-armed M4A2 diesel-fuel Shermans started to arrive in Soviet Union in the late summer of 1944. By 1945, some Red Army armoured units were standardized to depend primarily on them and not on their ubiquitous T-34. Such units include the 1st Guards Mechanized Corps, the 3rd Guards Mechanized Corps, 6th Guards Tank Army and the 9th Guards Mechanized Corps, amongst others. The Sherman was largely held in good regard and viewed positively by many Soviet tank-crews which operated it before, with compliments mainly given to its reliability, ease of maintenance, generally good firepower (referring especially to the 76mm-gun version) and decent armour protection, as well as an auxiliary power unit (APU) to keep the tank’s batteries charged without having to run the main engine for the same purpose as the Soviets’ own T-34 tank required

its no longer obtainable since the squad was retired after the merge, nothing is stopping them to add Lewis to Allies.

Sorry, gonna do a little bit of history policing.

The Lewis gun was made by Isaac Lewis, a US Second lieutenant, it was also supposed to be for the US army, they didin’t want it. Then he went to GB and BSA bought the licence for the Lewis and they made 50,000 of them during the Great War.

Yet the American faction has M4A2 76 in their tech tree. Please tell me where is the M3 half-track and the Lewis Gun is in the American tech tree, because I just can’t find it…

The reasons just keep stacking up for the Lewis gun being in the American tech tree.

The M4A2 76 was gived to soviet first in Berlin update, so is the P40 E in Stalingrad… They have their priority straight. Cuz now M3 Halftracks is soviet premium first :^)

Was the Berlin campaign before or after the Normandy campaign?

The Normandy one was M4A1 76w first with the cast hull, the M4A2 76 came after Hellcat

I know, but I want to know which campaign came first, I was not here before Stalingrad release.

I wasn’t here before Burning Sky update so not sure

Dang, that’s a while back.

Normandy campaign launched first, but Berlin campaign launched with the M4A2 76 premium when the best tanks in Normandy were the Jumbo and the Panzer IV H.

So it took them several mobile artillery pieces to realize that maybe an M4A2 76 should be in Normandy? Wow.
