Well back then there wasn’t a need for it, it was only with the introduction of the Panther that the US really needed something of the sort. Then it took them half a year to add the M4A1(76) W.

Not controversial at all. The top tank in USA lineup, is ALSO a premium vehicle of Sovs. Yet we have it. The Lee as well. The grip Thompson used to be available for Sovs too.
Also, different factions, so it wouldn’t harm Sovs in any way. Unlike premium as44, that soon after got a highly similar variation for regular tech tree. Or both flame tanks planes, identical to premiums but also received as event rewards.
So, Lewis could be part of Commonwealth tech tree safely (and open up the way for more ww1 goodies)

Add them same with M3 apc, P40 need a better loadout with 500lb bombs and we need Matilda Hedgehog and different kind of Churchill tanks
