Everywhere is cheaper to live sadly than Australia.
I live in the Philippines on $1,643 a month I get in my social security, which in the US I would still have to work to pay my bills. I rent a two bedroom house with aircon and have a live in 34 year old GF with her 15 year old son and too many cats . I go over at times, but have enough money in savings to make up for it, however, if I didn’t have to eat out a lot which is by choice, I could easily live with in my budget. The only thing more expensive here then in the US is my power bill, which if I did not use my aircon 24/7 would be cheaper.
So having your squads looked for a few minut would truely be devastating then… if you already decided to stop playing.
yes customised MM could fix some of that but people will probably still continue to treat the deserter button as a match reroll because some arbitrary they just made up. Meaning they would continue to degrade one match every 2 to 3 minutes making them especially impactfull for the MM algorythm in a negative way.
If multiple people rerolling the match stack up on a team it is no suprise that that match is doomed for everyone else forced onto their team. But since deserter dont stay in that match they dont care. And why should they?
Now you can guess why such a game might have problems retaining new players, when those are the once stranded is such match.
Not sure how a cap on the length of a match would extend matches that would be over in only 10.
But if you extend matches by adding more tickets or more caps then the current balanced matches which usually take around 20 to 25 ish minutes would turn into those 40 minute to 1 hour matches you hate so much.
Even looking at the replay portal for today there are barely any public matches that exeed 30 minutes and none that exeeding 35 minutes so far. The 50 minute match isnt that commen as you try to make it sound like.
It has a penalty by locking your squads for a short time. Something enlisted really needs.
They could always set the base exp to the deserter rate ( at x0.7) and add a x1.33 end of match bonus which would be on par with current payout still. But then if you add booster or othere modifiers into the mix they all would be nerfed by that 30% decrease due to the base exp beeing artificially nerfed making the game more grindy for everyone. (if that is what you want then good job…)
But all that would be just so deserter dont have to feel bad about that 30% cut while they ruin matches for everyone else… that 70% is already far to generous for my taste.
This was already proven wrong.
You get matched against stacks? Well, sucks to be you lol.
Good solution. People should suffer. Pain is only constant feeling in life.
And what about those who do not care?
i have data that shows at least 20-25% of all desertion happens cause of maps/gamemodes. this was collected with imperfect method that only shows minimum of such desertions and not actual number, so actual numbers are higher.
If we want to discuss the issue of people fleeing due to poor maps or modes, then we should not consider the situation where people have not entered these maps.
Based on my observation, almost every conquest mode has a large number of players who leave at the beginning of the game. So this issue should not be ignored.
Hear hear.
I’m one of them. My squadmate refuses to play Conquest and I agree with him.
You can never win a match where your team is split 2-3 ways.
Maybe in a game like Hell Let Loose where there’s actual coms and a commander telling certain squads to do stuff. But not Enlisted.
We all know how dumb the playerbase can be. People wont build rallypoints (or build them right near the objective) how can we expect them to be smart enough to equally split their forces to take on B and C points for example.
Again we come back to the issue of communication where usually a small group of guys will try defending C lets say against the entire enemy team while their teammates just kind of hang around various points of the map doing goodness knows what.
@robihr Thank you for posting evidence.
It’s really interesting these people demanding deserters be punished: They claim that deserters ruin games (I cant say Ive ever experienced that) yet ignore the main reasons people leave which is due to gamemodes and maps.
Consider Confrontation for example which always lasts ages and is hated by many (self included) so obviously they are either gonna leave when it appears, or play for a while and have to leave eventually because the game is just dragging on for way too long.
Just on deserters “ruining games.” People leaving doesnt ruin games for me (especially since they usually werent good players anyway).
What does ruin games for me is:
- people not building rallypoints,
- people not attacking/defending objectives,
- not marking enemies (especially enemy tanks)
- enemy tanks in greyzone
- stupid gamemodes where the team is split in half
Id like to see how these pesky deserters really ruin games, especially given that Im sure they are leaving not because theyre cowards or tantrum throwers, but because of reasons Ive discussed above all of which are fix-able.
And again I repeat (with many others):
Remove Deserter Punishments and Instead Give Bonuses for Staying to The End
This would be a much better alternative, as those of us who struggle will get rewarded for staying to the end, and those who need to leave for legit reasons won’t get punished. Win-win.
Precisely.
Hell Let Loose does it, why not Enlisted? As you say it’s a win-win.
Yet there are people here so adamant about punishment (ignoring reasons for leaving and various solutions) it makes me wonder whether they just get off on punishing people which is never a good sign…
They could always just nerf the base exp gained if you like.
With the base exp set to the deserter rate ( at x0.7) and add a x1.33 end of match bonus which would be on par with current payout still. But then if you add booster or othere modifiers into the mix they all would be nerfed by that 30% decrease due to the base exp beeing artificially nerfed making the game more grindy for everyone. So everyone would just get punished.(if that is what you want then good job…)
