towards the end lol
Pizza at the door?
nope we had 100 tickets left with 2 point left to take no point of grinding out the end when its a lost and somehow everyone still has around 20 kills with everyone having a lot of deaths( including me ). The enemy team were just better than the team I was in
Oh…
I usually desert at the very beginning (when human players can still be added) when I have to because of some unwanted mode, or because I’ve been defending 5 match in a row and want a change of pace…
If there’s only 100 tickets left, wouldn’t it be mathematically more advantageous for you to hold up 5 minutes to get the 30% xp that would be slashed due to desertion?
Because iirc it depends on when you quit because in the past my PC had issues, resulting in crashes when running something demanding, resulting in “desertion” around 5 minutes. And I never got the few xps and skill credited to anything (or at least never noticed).
PUT.IT.IN.STATS and nothing else.
That too.
For some, stats are important
(I don’t recall last time I looked at mines though. Wonder if it’s good or horrible eheheh)
It might, but probably not with my today’s bad mood
Enlisted is a bad idea when having a bad mood. It can be frustrating, or can turn you into a petty jerk cussing in match or even venting on the forums calling others not having the same gaming philosophy names.
I relax in the skies when that happens. Or play a single player game.
I only sleep around 3 to 4 hours a day nowadays eheheh. Mood is important.
With that first bombing, I can give people the right to get angry and run away.
However, in the end the Emperor won, even Mustang can’t do anything against the Emperor.
Emperor protects.
simply there is no point in them cause they dont tell you anything about player.
if i want high K/D ratio i would just play vehicles and snipers, contributing almost nothing to team win. if i want high WR i would just desert on every loss. if i suicidally rush into cap points trying to take them, i will have high D count, lowering my K/D ratio, but it helps the team win.
I know, it’s why I don’t really look at mines. Last I looked it was to see my bolty count, and plane kill count.
Been a while.
But to some it’s important. Boasting purpose? Those funny individuals who like to post their stats here thinking it hold any value?
Might deter them. Maybe.
The lack of map picking creates lots of deserters. I never leave a game, even if I know my team will loose. I only leave when I hate the map
This little discussion reminds me of the post “Insert dreserter into the statistics,” where literally everyone who commented on why that was a bad idea was basically a deserter. The same concept can be applied here.
Why should we be punished because DF gives us stupid maps we know we wont enjoy?
This is a GAME. For Fun. We are not fighting for Ukraine here. If you desert SO WHAT?
Indeed deserting as soon as you know what type of map/gamemode it is I would argue is better than deserting halfway through.
Others can disagree but I stand by my experience that desertions really havent been a problem.
My issue is those who desert when it gets tough. They could leave a 30 or 45 second break so that those who don’t like the map can leave without penalty, and the first desertion of the day could maybe be a warning, and then any others afterwards is punishable.
And I understand that.
But there is no way of distinguishing between
- Coward who got shot once and rage quitted
- Player who knows they wont enjoy this map/gamemode at all.
- Theres someone at the door, needed to use the bathroom, family wants something, getting water.
I have been in a room playing Enlisted. Theres a computer behind me and family wants help with some important IT stuff. So I turn my chair around and go and help them. This takes idk 1 minute? Minute and a half?
BOOM YOUVE BEEN KICKED FOR INACTIVITY.
That’s just BS.
I agree with your idea of Id just say 1 minute where players can see okay this is confrontation I hate this I know it drags on for hours Imma leave.
desertion of the day is a fair suggestion**, the problem is crappy maps and crappy gamemodes come up all the time.**
My squadmate and I HATE confrontation and conquest for example. Every time we join we know well get like two confrontations, a conquest and a crappy not fun map we never enjoy like airfield or steel mill before we can get to a proper match.
Side note on Conquest (ABC) my squadmate rightfully is dead against those because they split the team meaning that we are guaranteed to be left just the two of us trying to hold or defend a point against the whole bloody enemy team. Our team might work together to get ‘A’, but then theyll all go off to attack B and they cant take B, C is held by red and great now A just got lost and we are running back and forth across the whole map like its whack a mole.
Thats just not fun.
Also on your desertion idea, we usually play a match round lunchtime and a match in the afternoon/evening.
So by your idea, which again is a valid suggestion, wed only be able to skip once which is no good. Remember, we have this thing called a LIFE. I dont want to be forced to play Confrontation when I know in 25 minutes my university online class is on again.
This is why Ive previously argued that matches should be locked to 20 minutes max. My issue is that we never know how long a match will last. I know confrontation always drags on which is why I hate it but you could have a match thats over in under 10 minutes (which isnt fun because its either getting stomped or a complete walkover) or weve had a few matches go over 50 minutes where youre tired bored frustrated but if you leave youll lose all your XP which makes it even more pointless.
This whole crap situation could be fixed easily by the devs:
-
Getting rid of bad gamemodes and maps. Reverse D Day for instance is very widely regarded as a map that just shouldnt exist.
-
Let players have map and gamemode preferences.
-
Dont kick players for inactivity for at least 10 minutes for example, that way a fair chunk of ‘leavers’ will be able to return to the game if they are interrupted for whatever reason.
-
Add a large XP bonus for those that remain until the end of the round like Hell Let Loose. This is in addition to a winner’s bonus. If you leave/kicked before that, you dont get the bonus and thats okay.
-
Put a time limit on matches, 25 minutes seems to be the best time frame in my opinion. That way players know what they are getting into before joining a match. You wont have ‘over in 5 minutes’ walkovers, nor will you have ‘this has gone for over an hour Im really frustrated and have stuff to do’
-
Referring to all of the points above, that would fix the majority of deserters, narrowing it down to those that really are cowards.
War Thunder unlike stupid Enlisted has a reasonable timer before kicking someone due to inactivity and when you leave the game prematurely you just receive the XP youve gotten at that point. Hell Let Loose also doesnt punish you, you just dont get the End of Match Bonus (which is in addition to bonus for winning).
We should reward those that stay till the end instead of punishing those that needed to put dinner on or use the lavatory. I will never understand why I need to explain that to people. So many gamers clearly need to get outside and touch grass.
Maybe adding a pre lobby to the battle can help making it easier to leave a battle before it even starts or adding a map voting system like in black ops 2 where you can play the same map again, vote for next map rotation, or random while getting a whole new set of players that chose what ever option they liked.
