Add bipod to MG39

I dont know, whats the point of a MG if it doesnt have a bipod? or actually, I didnt bother trying it out, can you still brace it “decently enough”?

Technically it already has the bipod benefits even if the model doesn’t have one, the angles are worse though

So half the job is done. Now please finish it.

I propose to add MG42 bipod to it, maybe with some ugly welds and add a note to the description that it’s improvised by troops.

It’s absolutely possible to use a MG42 without a bipod, or even hipfire it, just not particularly accurately.

I do think it would be reasonable to give Germany one with a belt that can only be hipfired unless used with a bipod, and restrict all other high capacity MGs to that as well. Might be a bad take but I think it would make sense to make anything with >100 rounds have to use the bipod, maybe even the patrotrommel guns too.

Except you could hold it only on the barrel shroud that would get really hot as you shoot.
So if you shoot alot, you will get your hand burned.
That’s why I suggested forward grip or asbestos gloves as alternatives.

I completelly support this.
In fact I made several suggestions about this in the past.

Ah okay I interpreted it as all MGs should require that. I think it a could be good but definitely shouldn’t apply to LMGs and probably shouldn’t apply to the 50 round guns, even if they aren’t technically LMGs.

Tank without tracks isn’t tank.
MG without bipod still MG.
That’s stupid. And you still can’t understand that which is also stupid.

Not really

That’s not true.

Care to elaborate?
Because the only 3 ways I know how to use MGs are:

  • bipod
  • tripod / other mount
  • handle for unsupported (no bipod/tripod/mount) use

MG39 doesn’t match any of those so from what I know, it’s impossible to use (at least reasonably).
So feel free to educate me.

I meant tank with removed tracks. Sorry for not being precise.

I see no bipod. And the gun is still used effectively.

And this is exactly the way I am using it in enlisted.

Except he uses hand protection. I included it as alternative solution:

So simply add gloves to the left hand for all campaigns and job done.

Why? Handheld MGs doesn’t have overheat. That’s only for peasant vehicle MGs.

For visual realism?
Like, why add reload animation if you can just wait 5s doing nothing. Same thing.

That cant be real. Had more than 50 rounds.

Fake!!!

That’s good point.

They could add more weapons this way. There’s no need for proper animation.

But seriously, I know this is very minor thing but imo there is no harm in making the game look better at almost 0 cost even if it’s only for a few nerds like me.
Or I guess there is some harm I don’t see, judging by how many ppl oppose this lol

Why not? They already gave gloves and gasmask for ofenrohr users.

Are you sure about this one?
I just tested it on the shooting range and it seems to have identical angles.

Also for some reason it’s actually easier to mount. I guess it’s because the whole barrel does the collision check and not only the bipod?
