Add a further increase to score for using fortifications. +40% of original amount

Not too long ago fortification interactions were given a 20% increase to score. However, I’m still very rarely seeing anything being put up to help teams. The incentive wasn’t high enough.

In addition, there are many games that I’m playing front line defender and still trying to get fortifications up. Yet even with 140+ fortification “points” per game (in addition to being top 3 on kills and objectives), and nobody else on the team above 10, I don’t feel like I’m getting rewarded enough for carrying the team to put it simply.

What I am suggesting is at least an additional +40% score increase from the base amount. So grand total would be the 60% increase from the original amounts. My hope is that it will at least incentivize more players to help with fortification. Rally points, sandbags for cover, ammo boxes, etc.

I think the main reason for people not building much fortification while defending is because many people are just casual people who are only interested in shooting enemy. Therefore, if they build fortification they will only build the one that is beneficial for them to attack enemy. For example, they will build rally point and ammo box, so they can have enough ammo and faster to reach capture zone. On the other hand, people build less barbed wire and sandbag because it may limit their view or movement thus reduce their ability to attack enemy.

The main reason is that except rally points and ammo boxes, fortifications are just inefficient waste of time. There’s no need to trying keep your soldiers alive as defender. You just need to spam meat shield and run fast as you can to objective. Fortifications are just too slow paced.

if people don’t build forts it means they aren’t very useful, and in my case they aren’t indeed, any score bonus wouldn’t change it if they’re not reliable.

I remember one game where I started building AA straight from spawn, 5m from the spawn i didn’t even search for good spot, the moment I finished I got killed. Yes, the enemy has long entered our territory, so what’s the point of building anything, you have to focus on shooting, ignoring the ridiculous fragility and time consuming of these structures.

At the current pace of the game, all elements such as structures, shovels, binoculars, etc. simply do not make sense, too fast action, too much shooting for the sake of shooting. It’s a shame because this game could have been so much more.

devs made all these tools for tactical gameplay and then did all the mechanics backwards.

I find sandbags keep people alive, esp when i get points for saving a life, if people build them at least one can do is use them, if i see a sand bag, i am heading for it, rather than stand in the open.

Long live Engies

There’s no need to keep your soldiers alive as defender, you just need rally points close to objective. That’s it, there’s no real penalization for dying as defender. Building sand bags is waste of time, especially on more “explosion friendly” campaigns.

However: if you are defending, I guess you - like me - pushing beyond the object to hold the enemey forces back.

In thoses cases building a sandbag or two in the open is very rewarding for keeping yourself alive (including your bots and teammates).

Another scenario:

Let’s say you’re attacking and more or less solo-capture the object and stand idle.

At the same time there’s only one reasonable entrance for the enemy to get to their defending objective.

Why not put down a barb wire or two and block that very same entrance, during that short period of time waiting for both teammates and enemy to join the party?

Works wonders

Of course, in some scenarios sand bags could be useful. But it’s nothing consistent, it’s just very situational. There’s no need to push players to using them, building sand bags shouldn’t be meta or essential part of gameplay. :man_shrugging:

Each to there own, if defending, i am not pushing out, i am making a place, where most can make a stand, if needed.
i believe my sandbags help, along with spawn and ammo, and wire, look at this and tell me if i contribute to team or not.

The problem is not the score.
The problem is that you can spend 30min on building a literal castle that will be erased in 10s by explosives.

Of course more score will also help but it’s not the main issue.

Considering, i don’t get more than 9-20mins a game, i think i do well,
also what don’t build, but run around with 200+ ping, and die a lot, cost tickets???
Not that i build castles, but i have seen what a bombing run can do, and i know, that the sandbags etc, although get blown to crap, some live, for me, that’s worth building, as opposed to having nothing at all.

Each to there own

Ok i agree, it is a total waste of time playing then, i get it, i came to game to play engie, if its not required anymore, they should just remove engineer class, and have all assaulters, then all be happy, just running around shooting.

well BP is done, and still have 190 days left on 2y prem i got, wanted to get my pilot2, and tanker 2 done in Pacific campaigns, and the engie2, but i guess what’s the point anymore, i be back in a few months, if nothing has changed, Dev/Game wise, wont be renewing, so have fun just running around, being Rambo on steroids.

prob not but never hurts to reward teamplay

Wouldnt mind some increase in durability as long as they dont become maginot line.

Imagine playing fps multiplayer game for the sake of building walls. I don’t get it. I will never understand those people. I think this game really isn’t made for those people. They should rather go play modded wwii sims or something like that.

xDD I totally forgot abou fortnite lol

Bad idea. I think the new ‘‘score values rewarded’’ was bad overall. Mostly helps camping veichle players who do not help protect a capture point, sitting in the back blasting enemy veichles in the back, they do not ‘‘help’’ with the battle at all, yet they get som much score for only destroying enemy veichles, they have low infantry kill count but high veichle kill count. Now you want some useless engineer camping in the back with his engieer nest to be number 1 every game? All the people who play the point and have the highest kill count capture points or point defence/attack kills no longer matter but they play the objective.
Maybe not everyone want to play a playstyle involving building all the time, maybe some of us want to be in the middle of the action, not build. Play minecraft or something.

while its kiddy game, ironicly it requires quite alot of skill to build & fight simultaneously in fast pace.

Not exactly something that is presented in enlisted

I mean I can appreciate the lone sandbags protecting a semi exposed rp, or some barbed wire in doors or windows facing the enemy front…

But some crazy fools like to block ALL doors and windows, even those their own team is supposed to use.

It’s like compulsory, window = build!

Hate those guys…

No doubt, it requires reflexes…

It’s just too silly looking. Especially the lil dances those characters make…

Ppl who made these, clearly never put a single foot in nightclubs, dance floors or whatever even once…
