Right now, BR5 has too many full-range, high-RPM, laser-beam machine guns. It’s time to give this old warrior some love. According to the archives, its rate of fire should be 400-600 RPM. A slight buff in-game would let it keep fighting in BR5

A better comparison would’ve been against the MG 42 100. It shoots at 990rpm and has a 100-round belt, and is also BR V. The M1919A6 should be buffed. If the Soviets can have an MG that shoots 600rpm and 750rpm (for the RD 44), why can’t the allies?
The only issue is the Japs having an MG that shoots around the 600rpm mark, but it does like 24 damage per shot, so it’s effective RPM is around 1200rpm. The M1919A6 could easily get a buff from 600 - 800rpm.
Thank you for your post. Very true.
However I believe the M1919 should be downtiered, to BR IV or even BR III. But of course reduce the ammo belt to 50 rounds.
Yes, it is belt fed, but the Germans get the MG34, 50 rounds that go brrrrttt and a proper LMG.
The M1919 has a considerably slow chug chug chug ROF and its not like its super accurate or anything. Its also awkward to move around.
Allies are stuck with top mounted 30 round LMG or 20 round BAR which however much you like it, is not an LMG.
As for the high BRs, maybe an M2 Stinger? That would make sense for BR V which is all crappy prototypes fantasy BR.
I want to see the Vickers gun added one day. Its not an LMG but its still very cool and was used by Allied forces.
I suggested on an earlier post that a 100 round Stinger be added to the tech tree. The event M2 has 200 rounds, and an event MG 42 has 250 rounds, whereas the tech tree version has 100 rounds. It makes sense in terms of balance.
600 would be fair, but anything more than that is historically inaccurate. Maybe something else could be buffed? Like reload speed or accuracy.
Damage should be increased to 14.0 so it could 1hk at longer distances.
